i have been really cautious about my body recently, and I just forgot how to swallow. Now that I am cautious of my throat and stuff, I constantly suck back my tongue to clear mucus in my throat, and for about 3 days I haven’t been able to function optimally because I constantly swallow saliva, and when eating food I gulp it down, like I “inhale” it, and I can’t seem to get rid of that pattern. My tongue is going back and down, and I constantly feel like I am choking on it, and to relieve that feeling l, I have to go into an underbite. Please tesch me how to swallow food like a Normal human
When I first started learning how to swallow properly I had some problems as well. It felt like food was not going down my throat properly. As my swallow became stronger, this feeling went away.
A couple of suggestions...
To avoid feeling like you are inhaling your food, try pressing your tongue against the roof of your mouth when you swallow.
To help with the feeling that you are choking on your tongue, open your mouth wide, and stick your tongue out as far as you can. This is just an exercise. Don't walk around with your tongue hanging out. 😀
Hi,
try to retrain the swallow pattern with the small bolus excercise .
Chew a lot a small piece of bread and when It becomes very soft place it on the middle of the tongue.
Push it angainst the hard palate keeping the tip of the tongue on the incisive papilla.
And then swallow lifting the back and the bolus will slide down.
I found this at the moment
Mind that I kinda figured it out myself how to do it , so you can too
