In the process of eating, is it okay to use your cheek muscles to move the food around?

It's the same part of muscles that allow is to smile. So if it is bad, then smiling should be bad too. that's a weird  assumption right? Smiling gives you cheek bulges hmm idk. But when I smile I literally feel my cheek muscles engaged. So can someone clear this up for me? I'm too confused

I think there may be something to this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5pocMUIWwU   Spock doesn't hardly smile or eat.  Please avoid laughing at this notion in order to preserve your flat cheeks.  ;-)

Legit, though, I think there is something to this.  Soft foods lengthen faces of kids... probably not so much in adults, TBH.  Are you trying to lengthen your face?

Super interesting the way our faces look and are perceived.  For example, smiling may shorten the face as the smile muscles can engage an upward motion.  Plump and merry go hand in hand.  Long and somber as well.  Ex.  "Why the long face?"

When someone has a recessed chin, they are perceived as timid, weak or cerebreal.  Someone with a more foward chin (and better airway) is perceived as peppy and alert.  These are really interesting observations!  In fact, targeted botox can effect emotions.  There is a reciprocal pattern here.  Smiling can elevate someone's mood.  I am not sure I'd sacrifice a good mood for flatter cheeks.  It seems a sad existance.  Studies show that kids who smile more in photos end up with less mental health issues in adulthood.  Probably correlation more than causation.  Many Miss Universe contestants have apple cheeks... probably from all that smiling, but it is perceived as attractive.

For moving food around Dr. Mew talks about using the tongue to do that. For smiling, I don't know if he has covered this at all, but obviously if you cease all facial expressions for a period of 5 weeks your muscles will dystrophy.
