What the?!?!?!?!  Who are these guys developing this....  Look at this... Just LOOK AT IT!

They want to do RPE by removable, clear appliances.  LOL  WHO ARE THEY KIDDING?  I guess just themselves.

This is such a terrible idea on SO many levels.  I really think they ought to stay away from kids.

You can inevitably trap growth or even cause more problems.  Listen... if you break the palate apart (which forces described in the patent specify)... then all of a sudden it's SO Loosy Goosy.  Then if you give the kid a clear apparatus and they lose it, then guess what happens?  The palate SHOOTS UP!  So there you go.  This is a recipe for disasterous results.  And then,... when they go back in to try to get an iTerro scan (which who knows how long that will take and create a new aligner... and who knows how long that takes)... I don't know... Maybe they give out seconds.  I don't know.  All I know is that breaking the maxilla then leaving it unsupported or intermittently supported is NOT a good idea on any level.  Also, their designs of plastic between the tongue and palate are bad.  Kids need to talk. Actually, I can't even see what it's saying, because I can't for some reason see any of their photos on Google patents (or don't know how).

Here's why I don't like aligners on kids...  orthodontists don't like it.  It's just not a good idea as it can block incoming teeth, it can trap the growth of teeth between teeth or other problems.  I don't know all the issues, because I'm not an orthodontist, but that's kind of what my local orthodontist was saying... aligners are just bad.  Kids faces need to move.  I will show you what aligners can do with growing kids:

aligner whatever

The aligner teen and aligner kids are just not a good idea IMO.  Dr. Sue Lee is basically a miracle worker... but on this child, I'm concerned that their facial coloration is worse afterwards.  Their facial width appears to be to, but that could be deceiving.  This stuff is terrifying... and I just cannot support Invisalign on the grounds that they're going under the age of 18.  I won't do it.  I won't support them.  I'll NEVER get Invisalign.  They need to be hands off on the kids.  This is exceptionally dangerous and downright stupid.  I really should forever delete my account, as some big ol group of investors will try to get mad... but the truth is, we need $ out of this.

Money has done nothing to help us.  Look at the Crozat.  Guess what... it's ba-ack!  Where did it go?  You know... this whole thing is a shake-up.  Everyone on this website basically almost everyone knows what appliances to get or try out.  Right?  Why do we need to try and convince a dentist to get it?  This is AMERICA.  (Well, for those who are in America).  Land of the free - home of the brave!  (Especially on the internet... lol)... Probably more brave then we ought to be.  However, we really, truely need to ask ourselves... If this whole financial industry for orthodontics was really consumer driven, wouldn't it look a lot different?  It would.  Here's why.

1) Go to an orthodontist and they look at your face and teeth.

2) They decide if they even want to treat you.  They usually do this off a number of reasons... such as how easy of a patient you are to treat or how compliant you appear when you walk in... and unfortunately the better educated you are, the less likely they care to deal with you.

3) They come up with a treatment plan of their own choosing.  It's usually not with the best tools, though.  What do they care?  They don't.  They're an Invisalign office or Damon or whatever company is pitching a high-markup to these greedy folks.  Did you know that orthodontists make about $200K a year?  Yep.  That's even with their frequent vacationing.

4) They set the price, which I'm okay with.  Here's the rub... it's take it or leave it.  Do you REALLY see orthodontists following the happenings?  Nope.  They don't have time.  That is why people like you and I are trying to come up with workable treatments.  The orthodontists are too darned busy to patent and the large companies who make it to the stock market are too darned embroiled in legal battles.  Where's the innovation!?  Dentists innovate.  I don't know why... maybe because they care or want a leg up.  They didn't go to orthodontic school, so they are learning on the job (you and me).  But somehow I don't mind so much.  Sure, they have gaps in knowledge... but I see that they at least have heart.  It may vary per region... but this is just how it is where I'm at.

Anyway... I'm going to challenge their patent.  I will try something to actually help us all to help ourselves.  So tired of all this... I am going to invent something that may flag their ire, but I doubt it.  I can't imagine that they'd be able to fight back much.  Obvi is obvi.

You know... not everyone understands this stuff, but Dr. Sue Lee does.  She's a true hero... Innovating Goddess with heart.  I can tell you why that poor patient has terrible gumminess in the back.  Been there... done that... still stuck.  Praying for relief!  I'm actually working with a local dentist and her (hopefully).  If she wasn't around, I'm not even entirely sure what I'd do.  Bless people who put mindfulness over profits.  We need to skip the orthodontists and select treatment based on appliance, IMO.  I believe we should ALL be able to treat ourselves.  The law basically says nothing on it.  Even these little clubs complain about how $ is slipping away.  The AAO can eat it.  They have enough $.  We can be smart consumers and demand the best treatments for ourselves and loved ones.  If that means a dentist does it, fine.  Orthodontists are way too snooty for their patient's good.  They check in... punch the clock... check out and don't want any problems.  If a problem occurs, you're waiting a week sometimes because they're out on yet another vacation in the schedule.  This would be okay if I needed my nails done or a haircut.  This is not even in the ballpark.  THIS IS OUR HEALTH AT STAKE.  And they just want to keep up dying on the vine.  Shoot - if we complain, they may drop us mid-treatment.  It happens... and there is nobody there to save us... except some good hearted dentists.

Orthodontics in America MUST change...  It HAS to change... and I hope it changes around the world, too.  I am not expecting that it will and nobody cares.  That part hurts.  People just don't understand...

As long as we keep feeding the greedy machines, patent monster and have barriers between us and the treatments we desperately need...  there is an insurmountable problem.  I will have to get a clever way to fix this.  There is not an easy way to.  It must be developed shortly.  The problem is getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger.  The more $ we throw at this business, the less care we get as a consumer.  Sad, but true.  What has Invisalign done with their former IP?  I can tell you... it appears that they don't know that they already have a patent that is prior art.  I won't get into details here as that could really create an entanglement.... but they need to pay better attention to what's out there.
