Laws are being looked at. The American Association of Orthodontics and basically orthodontists everywhere would like to stop the at-home aligner systems. They will not be stopped. However, the AAO is painting Smile Direct Club and others as patients treating themselves and do not like that. Tough. It is about time for the laws to change... and I don't just mean for supporting some at-home system. Here's the deal... it's time for PATIENT choice. We have never had that. So long as we have to look under rocks for someone to order the equipment we know we need, we are not able to order the best equipment at reasonable pricing. Why is that? We are paying for a person... a person to oversee who has no interest in staying current, someone who thinks that and Alf is from an ortho lab at the North Pole, who runs a business (tracks chair time and consults on incentives for phase 2 discounts with phase 1 start). This is a friggen business and you are the product. What about freedom?!?!?!? Contact your representatives and please let them know that it's time for patient directed care, overseen by a qualified dentist. We must act fast. The time is now. Orthodontists are already plotting how to take back the reigns... from us! The AAO is recommending patients look into the laws for their state when looking into orthodontics. https://www.aaoinfo.org/_/online-orthodontic-companies/ They saved the best for last. Why would a patient worry about the laws? The laws don't worry about the patient.
We need to regain ground. Check out the connections already established between the AAO and the House of Representatives:

They have lobbyists. Let's make ourselves heard.
