I am looking to resolve my TMJ & sleep apnea. I've already done a year of myofunctional therapy which has helped my jaw a bit but I still need expansion (31mm molar width, 32F). My options are orthotropic treatment with respire clinic in ghent (probably going to be treated by ALF) or homeoblock with a different dentist. I like the idea of orthotropics because they claim I won't need to wear a retainer the rest of my life, however, I can't find as much research or case studies or information on the treatment. The orthotropic treatment is a bit more expensive. I also am a bit wary of the homeoblock being tooth-borne. Thank you for your input!
I recently contacted Respire for palate expansion for my child. Unfortunately they don't treat those living outside of Belgium and Dr Van Belle is going on maternity leave soon so they're not taking on new patients. Bummer!
