Hey,
I was thinking about that. As far as I can remember, I have never liked to chew with my front teeth and especially my incisors, it always caused me some pain. So I would use mainly my molars, even to cut the food and bite into a fruit or a steak.
Years ago I was diagnosed with a great open bite, only my last two molars were touching. It resolved with braces and elastics.
My point is - I have a long dropping jaw, with a high gonial angle, and as a friend noticed me, there is "not much separation" between my chin and my jaw, thin mandible. As opposed to some people whose jaws look like some sort of "socle", as if their lower faces were laid on a solid chin/"flat" and wide mandible.
I have heard and seen studies talking about mandible modeling in relation to the pressures exerced on it. To me, it would make sense that since I have never really chewed on my front teeth, no pressure has applied to this part and on the chin, and more applied on the ramus part (back teeth), so my gonial angle went up with more bone thus a more rounded angle, and less bone on the mid and front part of the mandible, thus a thinner and less flat mandible, with a thinner chin etc.
I wonder what are your opinions on it.
If it is correct, I basically "lack" chewing with front teeth, and doing so would improve my jaw's look. I've heard some people here advising this kind of chewing with front teeth, why ?
