Hey. I am curious about the link bonding droopy maxilla and palatal form.
Please fill these informations on your post:
- on a scale from no to totally, how recessed is your midface/maxilla
-do you or did you have an incorrect swallowing
-do you or did you have a incorrect resting tongue posture, like vouched to the floor, between teeth, only tip, only back, or perfect full tongue up
And the most important: I'll ask you to place the tip of whatever finger on your incisive papilla (behind your upper incisors) and from there, slip your finger along the mid suture (from front to your throat) until your reach your soft palate. You should describe the form you felt, especially from middle to back. Additionally to your wording, a schema is welcomed.
I NEED information from you degenerates but also from well-developped people. :)

Me:
-Droopy maxilla / lengthened midface + slight gingival smile, slight bump on nose
-Had an incorrect swallowing all my life, especially last 2 years when the melting happened. Corrected it since few months
-Had incorrect tongue posture all my life, especially last 2 years for same reasons. I have developped bucci and orbicularis oris showing that
-My palate is kinda vaulted, then at middle it flattens, and there is an abrupt bump before ending and reaching soft palate. It is this bump that drags my attention.
Schema:
For some reasons it won't let me edit or upload anything. I will try again later.
Eh, I guess I have average/ok maxilla. Not recessed but not as developed as I'd like it to be. I used to use more of my facial muscles to swallow but have adopted correct swallowing(I had to drink a lot of water to train this). I rest my entire tongue on the palate now, with the tip a few millimeters behind incisive papilla.
As for the palate, for me it feels smooth, no bumps. Do you think you may be able to provide an illustration of the bump you're describing? Perhaps the force of the tongue might hep correct it
