You've already heard about posture, it's the backbone of mewing, but that's simply not true it's exercise. Do this on a regular basis, it helps the muscles in your back stand up straight effortlessly, so when you factor it in EXERCISE IS VERY VITAL IN MEWING. It helps with posture, the excretion of hgh, reducing the chance of getting nasal congestion and increasing the visibility of your facial bone structure, so you does super sexy hollow cheeks.

I can further back this up by telling you about my case. I started exercising and improving my diet greatly, I've noticed this has had a profound effect on my posture I've stopped slouching. then later on I gradually stopped my routine and now I have problems with maintaining good posture.

Thank you

I do cardio exercise daily and breath through my nose while doing it. When I first started nose breathing whiling exercising, it was tough. You feel like you're not getting enough breath, but just like mouth taping for sleep, you eventually adapt and it feels normal.

I've noticed that I naturally mew when exercising with mouth closed, and the feeling in my lower face is so satisfying. Mew exercising makes my face feel strong and firm. The more intense the exercise, the more strength I feel my tongue pushes on the palate. Theirs something to this.

A few weeks into mewing I realized I could breathe nasally in endurance activities, but remember to take deep, fast breaths this is needed to supply your muscles and brain with oxygen.

Exercise tends to force you to have correct posture anyway, or you would just suddenly have a sharp pain in your back and you're out for a while.

Injuries during intense exercise are much more noticeable and happen very fast, so you'll know pretty soon if you are doing something wrong.

Injuries from light activity tend to slowly build up until damage is done that can't be reversed, such as back pains from years of incorrect lifting posture. You don't know you're doing it wrong until the damge is irreversible.

Try using a boxing skipping rope and notice how you suddenly find yourself with perfect posture.

I do practice exercise with good form, if my back collapses when I'm doing push ups I either stop or do one more keeping my back perfectly aligned with my neck and legs. Also I was just trying to point out that I wasn't retaining as much muscle in my back compared to when I was exercising on a regular basis.

I was also wondering what made you think I'm not maintaining proper form while I exercise?

I might've exaggerated my point, but I've was watching 'Yo Elliot' on posture and he was talking about his stepfather he said that his posture was straight as an arrow and his stepfather so happened to have a regular exercise routine.

I'm open to discuss about this and if you convince me that I'm incorrect then congrats.

1. You're a strong believer in the Gokhale method and I want you to do as many push ups as you can you will find yourself with your back collapsing.

2. That only happens when I exercise, I have great posture unconsciously when I stand or sit.

3. As humans we don't naturally use foot wear, just as any other land creature. Taking that into consideration we now have concluded that we're barefoot walkers. And in my opinion that post you made about correct walking form is wrong just the foot landing on the ground part. So the natural way to land on your foot is to land on the forefoot the outer most side first and you'll notice that you hardly put any force on the hell and that's how you walk. The standing with your heels part is correct though.

4. Have you ever seen a patient with a brace to correct some spinal problem like scoliosis, it eventually corrects the spine, but when they used for more that is necessary their muscles will atrophy, their core muscles, then they're unable to stand up straight, because they lack the muscle that is necessary for standing up straight.

I think that settles it, you are honestly the best person to get into an argument with. And I'll be trying this method that's so "life changing". BTW I still believe what I said earlier and congrats (a reference from earlier).

@ben, the body's weight is delivered through the ankle joint into the heel and toes. The big toe is specially important.

I never stated that we were meant to bear all of our weight on our heels; in my posts above, I mention that we're only supposed to bear the majority.

I understand that our toes were designed to bear weight as well (especially our big toe, as you mentioned). If they weren't, they wouldn't be included in our species' biological blueprint. However, this doesn't change the fact that the calcaneus is meant to bear the brunt of the force.

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. You wrote "Our weight should not be placed on the delicate bones of the forefoot, lest you desire a gnarled, deformed structure", which made me think that.
