Simulating biting and tearing

So hundreds/thousands of years ago we would rip and tear tough meat from the bone. Therefore do you think there would be any benefit to artificiality trying to simulate this for extended periods, say 30 seconds to 1 minute? For example bite down hard on a towel and pull it away from you with force while keeping your teeth clenched as hard as you can. Could this in fact help forward growth? 

Maybe this is already a 'thing' within the community, if so is there a thread?
