I’ve noticed that in the Y expander, the screw is placed further back into the palate which makes sense since there is a screw in the front getting in the way. Tends to have the screw between the e first molars.
A Schwartz expander tends to have the skeletal expander screw between the first two bicuspids.
here’s a couple random pictures of expanders and their positions. Could someone give more insight?
@admin id like your insight please
Having the transverse screw towards the front of the palate I imagine would mean that there is more force acting on the teeth towards the front of the mouth which may help at rounding out a tapered "V" dental arch into a more rounded "U" dental arch.
Would like to hear others opinions on this.
