This means my face grows a bit downward.
My twin doesn't have it, we had different braces, my tongue pushed forward on the middle of the palate, the steep part where my incensive papilla ends. The night brace pushed my tongue there. So it might be that it made the hump, but I don't want to make it worse or don't archieve anything. And I guess can't or shouldn't push my nose backwards. So what is the solution. My guess it is pushing right behind my teeth.
Like literally the only flaw on my face is the roman node and a bit downward growth, but it makes my profile scary, so I need to fix it.
I started to believe I can strenghten my tongue, last time it was easier to mew there, on the "spot". But I keep forgetting it, and not doing it in my sleep(also im afraid it will slip back and push the middle), or I hardmew with good posture sometimes to feel like I'm not wasting my time, but I always forget and simply keeping it there might not move my bones. I heard we need 1 gram to move bone, but then simply sleeping, standing, wearing headphones, earbuds pressures our bones and our skull gets smaller lol?
So i guessed it?
Hi
@kalibri So...you basically are not supporting your nose properly with the top portion of your maxilla. Your palate supports the nose. If it is too tall, it won’t slide forward. It is is too low, it may slide forward but not offer enough height support. So you have to get it just right. As an adult, it won’t just come forward without help. Keeping your tongue back doesn’t help, just like you suspected. To find today’s spot, see where your body feels happy. Don’t overdo it, though. Push them give it a rest.
FYI - Some people get nasal dorsal humps from Smile Direct Club treatment. As the teeth move forward to uncrowd, the palate stretches downward and lower. This causes the nose to be less supported and drop a bit. However, a lower palate isn’t necessarily a bad thing. This allows for it to slip forward more while growing. But usually as an adult, it likely is where it is. A steep incline of the palate from the teeth may have kept the palate back more.
For example, an airway focused treatment is usually to widen and move forward.
There are a few moving factors...but I am going to assume you are an adult. Something like AGGA or whatever with a nance button can potentially help,...but!!! It totally depends on the person and their structure. From the sound of it, you have it steeper here. To fix, you may need an appliance something like the bottom appliance here... /community/community/main-forum/lab-visit-with-pictures/#post-16371 Then if you’re not crowded, you’ll have to deal with gaps. However...teeth tend to float forward as we eat (unless we have jaw deformation like deep bite or intruded molars).
I think your suspicion is good, though! If you keep trying to push your tongue up in the back portion of your mouth that won’t help!
As you are able to advance your maxillary palatal support, you can literally kind of grasp and push your nose up bit by bit. With a palatal expansion that doesn’t support this area (especially for older kids)..you’ll see this dorsal hump. The sutcher has a hard time ungluing and so the front dips a bit.
I had another article somewhere with a link to a cool vid on it from a gal that Dr. Mike Mew interviewed. Guys have it so easy. Honestly, for girls it is super unfair.

I'm interested in that if you find it:D Why is it harder?
I think with AGGA, my tongue wouldn't have space when closing my mouth, so that could be counter-productive and even if it's a faster progress, the hump will stay.
I am 18 so yeh, maybe I will eat something to make remodelling easier. I just wish it wasn't so hard to keep the pressure on the front palate, bcs with or without the chin tuck my tongue is half touching my palate and I can't hardmew with half a tongue, on the end of my tongue, no matter how I turn it. But there has to be something to make it easier without... side effects.
But daaammn this assymetry is unbelievable, I don't have the strenght. Not having my tongue straight kills it. I can't even stretch it in a U shape, just make waves.
Maybe yes I will try an appliance for the assymetry, and it's easier from there.

I am in FAGGA right now. In no way does it affect tongue space. If anything it gives you more tongue space once forward growth starts. You said "I just wish it wasn't so hard to keep the pressure on the front palate" that's exactly what fagga does. there is a little "button" that applies a force on the front of the palate a few mm's above the front upper teeth. Also, don't take this personally but, you're not a dentist or doctor so stop assuming what you think will happen. You're probably wrong.
I'm not assuming unless I'm sure, there is no other explanation. I compared myself to my twin, even tho he is the one who mouth breathed a lot and has perfect nose. I'm just careful, bcs it didn't change anyones noses, just mouth/jaw.
Well for me it would be hard, unless I keep the teeth slightly apart weirdly. The problem would be when I eat and my tongue pushes middle, I just don't know how much, so I will try it thanks!
@davewheeler87 how much did it cost? I don't know if it's worth $3500. How long are you predicted to use it?

Everyone and every case is different... I think nasal changes would take more time to correct because fixing the jaw is primary.... then the nose is a secondary symptom that would correct its self later? But moving the jaw forward would make the nose appear smaller. Once proper tongue space is achieved and proper tongue posture is practised for awhile good changes will continue to happen..... just like is wrong posture and mouth breathing is practised, bad changes will happen over time. Molar "pads" are put on so your teeth don't touch..... I need 6-8 mm of forward growth, I've been in fagga for 3 months and I have 3.5 mm of forward growth, so 4 months-ish to go ... then I am going into controlled arch braces to widen the jaws and close the gap from fagga.
