I can't seem to find any really definite answers to the question "which is best at increasing bone density." There seems to be a quiet consensus on sites like this and others that MK4 is better than MK7 for this purpose, and that MK7 is better for the decalcification of the arteries.
I've tried looking around for scientific answers as well, but I'm not very good at curating and analyzing all of the various articles online. One vague idea that I picked up through surfing however is that MK4 only has a better reputation for bone density because it's had studies done on it. Does this mean that MK7 might be just as effective but that it doesn't have the studies done on it like MK4?
I'm tempted just to take both. My goal is to keep bones thick and strong as I get older, and also to optimize the health of my arteries. I'm just loathe to spend more money on the addition of MK4 if MK7 is doing essentially the same thing.
I took both while trying to stabilize my expansion. My understanding is that MK4 is the active form, and MK7 is converted to MK4 in the tissue. For this reason, MK7 has a longer half life than MK4. MK7 would stay in the blood vessels longer than the active MK4 that gets used up in the tissues, so that might explain why sources say MK4 has more effect in the bone tissue, while MK7 has more effect in the vessels. I took 5mg MK4 after my first meal of the day for a spike of the active form, and then took 100mcg MK7 after my last meal of the day to maintain a more steady level through the night that could be converted to the active form as needed. At least that was my rationale, but I wasn't following any established guidelines. This dosing is more than standard maintenance intake, but less than the megadosing used in osteoporosis treatment. I can't say if it helped me or not.

I guess I should take both then, if I want the benefits in both my bones and my arteries.
My hair loss reversed with this:
k-2 mk7 superiorsource 100 mcg. I haven’t tried any other brands... I did try their mk4 and it made me angry. (Only tried once). The mk7 makes me empathetic. The sublinguals are pretty strong for me. I am a very sow metabolizer... so i can get toxic quickly on stuff. If I consistently take half of the pill, I get muscle cramps and heart tightening. Very dangerous to get too much k-2.... for the heart. There are some contraindications for k-2. I take a very small amount... maybe an 8th of a pill. It is just chalky... so easy to nibble off a bit and take sublingually.
