So, if you integrate the suction hold, would it suck the maxilla down? I mean you are sucking on your palate and creating a force that PULLS and that doesn't PUSH that much or am I missing something?
I think that @EddieMoney is correct in his belief that the skull grows downwards and forwards. The "down-swung maxilla" pattern is likely an effect caused by a completed downward growth, but insufficient forward growth. Pushing up on the maxilla with the tongue is unlikely to rotate it up, since that's not the mechanism by which the face develops properly anyway. I think that a beginner should concentrate on expanding his palate by placing the tongue in between teeth and try to form a suction hold there.
