The claim is that the DNA appliance will correct your posture, eliminate sleep apnea and tmj problems completely (in most cases) and expand your maxilla.
Quote "DNA therapy gently expands the upper jaw while keeping the bite balanced and optimizing spaces in the mouth and nasal passageways. The DNA is unique in that it treats the bite and the airway at the same time. Volumetric 3D expansion increases the size of the nasal passageways, the mouth and the airway. As the upper jaw grows bigger, the lower jaw enlarges and moves more forward into a more natural and optimal position. The lower jaw improvement improves the retrognathic or reverse position of the lower jaw. As the lower jaw moves forward, the tongue and soft tissue follow and have more room to exist and are further forward of the airway, creating a greater distance between the tongue and the airway. And viola, there is less obstruction of the upper airway. The result is improved breathing function, resolution of clenching problems and improved posture." End quote
This is sounds like it's better than the FAGGA because that appliance seems to just stretch your maxilla forward from where it is instead of expanding the whole thing forward. Of course it seems too good to be true and one of the links I've provided adresses that with this quote "Most conditions will be cured or dramatically improved. Sounds too good to be true? There are two reasons why this treatment is not better known and more widely used:
Mike Mew had commented on the homeoblock appliance a while ago (homeoblock is similar to the DNA appliance) and Mike said he does not like these type of appliances because it removes the work you'd have to do with your tongue and you could possibly relapse once the treatment is over. The people who created this system agree that myofunctional therapy is important to prevent relapse https://www.vivoslife.com/ just check the bottom of this page.
This DNA appliance is less invasive than the MSE procedure. I believe this should be explored and compared to the MSE procedure to see which one is better for our face/health, which one gives the most benefit? I do not know if the DNA appliance tips teeth or not, this would be nice to find out. What do you guys think of the DNA appliance? If some of us still have problems with keeping our tongue on our palate while we sleep and don't want to relapse during that period then the dna appliance would be a nice force multiplier. You mew and expand through the day, then you pop this in your mouth through the night and keep expanding. I don't know though, I'm not 100% sold on this appliance but I do think this should be explored in the same way we explored the FAGGA appliances.
Yep. DNA is amazing. The problem, though, is 2 fold:
1) For kids, they have a huge risk when the maxilla isn't sutchered.
2) Plastic up on your palate actually makes your palate want to shrink. They try and address this with daytime removal. Vivos is a lot different than Schwartz. I mean... it's just Schwartz...but they have proprietary stuff on how to use it.
How does plastic make your palate want to shrink?

Where did you get that info? Do you have a link?

It makes it want to shrink if there's no transverse pressure. Which there's more transverse pressure than upward no?
I really like the whole DNA cases I've seen but.. What's the main differences between a DNA and a saggital/transverse Schwartz from bracesshop?
Its like:
DNA for some reason is able to expand successfully and, on the other hand
OH no! Don't use a bracesshop appliance because it will just tip your teeth..
Meanwhile when you inspect the appliances the main difference that separates a DNA/Homeoblock from an active plate are those splints that make pressure on the teeth.. I don't get it..
Plus, some of the cases I see on the DNA site are kinda suspicious having in mind different angles, neck position, half smiles, etc..
And the price for a DNA appliance is just bogus.. I'd rather do MSE and get real sutural separation..

You go back so they can shave the acrylic and make the necessary adjustments, that makes sense. You need to be under medical supervision so yeah.
Evn if you bought a bracesshop expander you would need to shave the acrylic urself.
It's just that i don't see any actual articles, XRAYS/CBCTS, anything, that would make me chose it over trying a Schwartzz
All i see is really good advertising and before and after pictures. The articles aren't that impressive. I havent seen many but if you need 10mm of transverse expansion u'd most likely need to pay for 2 appliances.. and that's assuming they would work without tipping teeth.
It just makes me think that it's more of a " epigenetic bla bla scam"..and all they re doing is overpricing an appliance that isn't much different from a Schwartzz. It probably costs them 500 euros top to make and they sell it for 10k.
5-10k for an acrylic expander just seems too much. But hety, maybe it's totally worth it.
Oh, I didn't know about having to shave the acrylic. Thank you.
I met a German citizen on vacation where I live and we talked about general dentistry in Germany/US.
I don't want to be stereotypical but, I'm guessing it will always be priced higher in the US.

Maybe while you get the chance to get a DNA appliance, try different acrylic expanders and get the most out of them. That's what I'm doing.
I will be getting my DNA appliance soon. The DNA appliance is not just an "appliance" but a set of appliances. Every person has different problems with their craniofacial structure. To get the DNA appliance you will need to undergo a take-home sleep apnea test as well as a scan of Craniofacial region which VIVOS team will asses to determine which treatment and set of appliances will be best. I will be getting three appliances, two in the upper jaw and one in the lower. For those considering undergoing the "DNA" appliance at home, beware that there is no such thing as a "DNA" appliance as it is really a collection of appliances which are administered by trained professionals based on craniofacial 3D models and the like.

I'm actually not sure how you thyink you are credible when you don't even know how posture works, yet claim to somehow "specialize" in this. "Epigenetic "blah blah" claims" huh? First of all, the DNA appliance has CURED sleep apnea multiple times already. it has provided good aesthetic results in individuals. This is not up for debate. A schwartz appliance is (Ronald Ead and others have tried expanding with a schwartz appliance and what were the results like bro? Garbage. So much so that he is now doubting "adult appliances" but in all reality the problem was just the shwartz applaince. I think people are taking this DYI stuff to the head and are thinking that the DNA appliance's results are able to be emulated with any single appliance. if that was the case, why has it not been done yet after years of the DNA appliance kicking almost every other appliance's ass? So maybe, just maybe, there is something perhaps going on with this epigenetic stuff since, you know, the reason why adults can even achieve expansion and results through these appliances are due to epigenetic factors in the firs place? Lol just maybe...

Informative. I didn't see that on the Vivos website. I had a sleep doctor inform me I was about 95% likely to have apnea just based on a physical exam. Though I couldn't jump through all of the hoops to get the actual overnight sleep study done. They wanted to put me on a CPAP and wouldn't do the study unless I could get pre-pre approval for it. Which was just odd.
Do you know if the DNA/Vivos is administered the way Invisalign is? Which is basically, the doctor is there to monitor and slightly adjust it, but the majority of the treatment is handled by Invisalign and the dentist is basically a middle man?
I'm thinking of visiting a doctor within an hour of me, but he's not well known in administering Vivos. I don't know if this matters. His webpage about Vivos was created in 2018, so I doubt he's particularly experienced in handling cases.
Vivos is similar to Invisalign in the manner in which it is administered. I'm probably one of the first cases that my dentist has undertaken with the Vivos system. My dentist is also undergoing treatment with the Vivos system and she's sold on its effectiveness. I had the sleep study done through my dentist. I believe the sleep study is a required test before you're to be evaluated by the Vivos team.
I underwent a take-home sleep test and a dental ct scan. The results of these exams were sent to the Vivos team for evaluation. They will also take images of your face and teeth from various angles and that too will be sent in. The Vivos team will evaluate your situation and they or the dentist will sort of create a blueprint for the appliances required. Not everyone gets the same appliances. Each appliance is completely tailored to your specific problems. It takes about 2-4 weeks for the results to come in. It will be a powerpoint that details every single area that's relevant to craniofacial underdevelopment. They will have a 3-D model of your airway which specifically shows the areas that are most constricted.
After the results are reviewed, the order is placed for the appliance to be made. The appliance will arrive in 2-6 weeks. One interesting thing about the appliance is that it's self-regulating. You will know when you have to open the appliance further as it will get loose (in my case it's approximately every 3 weeks). I'm only allowed to open the back screws, the front is reserved for the dentist and I go to see her every 6 weeks so she can check on my progress and deal with the two front screws.
It's important to take very good care of your teeth as well as gums during the treatment as the growth occurs faster when there's no inflammation in the mouth.
If you have sleep apnea I would not look further, this device is a cure for sleep apnea.
This presentation is very informative:
