It's more profitable to keep treating symptoms for a lifetime than to fix causes once. If the ideas of encouraging proper growth patterns during childhood were widespread there would be far less need for dentists, orthodontists, TMJ specialists, physiotherapists, plastic surgeons, orthognathic surgeons, sleep apnea specialists, ENT's, and many other medical specialists whose industry and career is based on managing a symptom.

With the spine and body issues resolved, you'd have less need for chiropractors and podiatrists, and billions in profit could be lost to the makers of pain numbing narcotics.

The issues surrounding improper craniofacial development affect the brain, hormonal glands, and major nervous centers - resolving these issues early would drastically reduce population levels of anxiety, stress, and depression - and reduce the amount of drugs and psychiatry devoted to putting band-aids on these issues.

The medical industry is built upon alleviating symptoms and not on finding and curing the cause. Expecting the main-stream industry to look into restoring proper growth and actually cure people is expecting them to dismantle their own industry, render much of their education pointless, and make obsolete their enormous source of income. Improper growth is a goose that lays a golden egg for the medical industry, a non-stop supply of symptoms to treat that manifest differently for every patient. Asking them to look at the cure is asking them to kill their golden goose. They're not interested

This forum is necessary because we're at the beginning of  a massive uphill battle against the old medical establishment. Not only do they stand to lose their golden goose, but they could also be forced to confront the massive damage that they have done to patients.

Medical professionals looking to restore proper growth, to work with the natural healing capability of the body, and to look for causes rather than symptoms are unfortunately uncommon - and we need to support these people wherever they can be found.

Looking two steps ahead are the medical professionals that will train people on how to heal themselves, and the eventual dissolving of much of the medical industry when parents are educated on monitoring and correcting the development of their child from a young age.

The improper development of the craniofacial complex is an epidemic in developed societies which will rapidly become a pandemic across the entire species. This improper development has massive implications upon the mental health and well-being of the individual, and this translates into massive implications upon the mental health of entire populations.

I will say the epidemic isn't limited to developed societies but is actually worldwide. Just manifests itself in different forms across populations. But I believe a large amount of the world has some form of cfd. Just so happens those in developed countries are aware of it. Everything else you said is very poignant though

I agree with everything and we need communities/places like this to be more mainstream + educate people. This is a more education and self-improvement based forum/site than some other corners.

I think plastic surgery will always be around because there will always be lookism (no, not the website, but the term itself). As long as there's an ideal beauty standard-range that some people can't find/fit in to with good posture, diet, upbringing and the whole she-bang, there will always be a huge supply/demand system for cosmetics because people are social and always want to adapt to their environment. If you can't adapt, you slowly but surely fall behind.

And since we live in a "plastic surgery society" anyways (millions of people per year at least), many will of course be tempted to always get that "edge" or try and "improve" something somehow to fit a standard or expectation from the world. It's tough, but I doubt cosmetics will do anything but grow.
