No use kidding ourselves. The theories proposed in this forum unfortunately do not work, the only solution to improve a poorly grown face is surgery.

I myself tried, but to no avail.

The forum traffic went down significantly after Mewing got picked up by the mainstream and multiple (trying not to be rude, but) know-nothing influencers and media people made artlicles/videos that shot to the top of the SEO and results. I've lamented before that it's amazing that the mainstream managed to pick up this issue but also still somehow completely ignore it - humans worldwide have a collapse in physical structure with life changing consequences, with huge incidence rates across virtually all populations, cause unknown cure unknown: The largest medical crisis in history. Completely ignored. It just became a meme.

And a lot of very expensive and even risky "Solutions" by licensed medical professionals literally turned out to be outright scams or gross misrepresentations of results.

Anyways,

I'm still dedicated to finding the cause and cure. If you check out the wholebodybreathing.com/learn page I am laying out where we are so far. Combining many different methods and understandings we can get the beginings of results - relieving pain, opening the nasal airway, and I think some improvement in looks and overall shape. Coinciding with improved mental state.

We must keep trying but I think we've made progress and need to continue to do so

@admin I took a look at the site and it is really well done, my sincerest compliments about it

However, I wonder how many of those notions have already been verified or are simply theories/anecdotes.

I've started this page to propose what needs to be scientifically verified (it's an incomplete page as of now): /learn/required-research/
A lot of the claims / proposals I make are based on the claims and proposals of seemingly respected older theories which all fit/mesh together very well. You're completly right about these things needing scientific/hard evidence and studies, let's see if we can help organize this in the coming years and months.

@admin One thing I would like to understand is whether the expansion of the palate is actually possible after the age of 30 and what is the best solution to obtain it.

I just asked a question about it but I doubt anyone will answer me, so I'm asking you directly:

Are there any non-surgical solutions to expand my palate and realign my dental arches after the age of 30?

Appreciate it!

I have plans for how to revive the forum, will implement in the coming months. The discord etc are great (and discord seems to be a main reason for forums dying down), but public forums, structured discussion, and open information/search engine available information deserve their place and I think I can make this one very strong again

@karan I'll make sure to join the discord! You are a genius, and I will make sure to spread as much information as I can. Some forums are still gaining members, like the infamous .org, and most of the refugees from lookism and other forums have already transferred a long time ago. I think what caused its growth was it being talked about on TikTok and youtube. I think a large reason why .org is at the top of the search results is because its so niche. If we could get a couple articles on this website about newer things being talked about on tiktok, (that have been known about on here for years 😆) such as, CCW rotation, thumbpulling. Tiktok is getting more into the facial growth/scientific area of "looksmaxxing" from what I have seen. Two very important tiktokers that we should maybe contact or get articles about on here, are Jordan Wood, and Cranium Autist. These two are highly knowlegable people about facepulling, and have successfully proved wrong everybody that tries to debunk them. I suspect both of them have read these places, as Jordan started facepulling in april 2024, before it became popular. One final person that should be talked about is Oscar Patel. His content is a bit suspicious sometimes (promotes odd stuff like reverse thumbpulling, essentially just jutting but moving your jaw with your thumbs.) but I'm pretty sure he made a video about it and talked about how he may have been a bit misguided. I prefer Cranium Autist and Jordan Wood, and I think they could drive a lot of interest to this forum.

(Btw, excited for our meeting this week, I'm Ned)

@forwardgrowth But could facepulling also work for young adults in their 30s?

I have a class II skeletal malocclusion and many orthodontists tell me that my only solution is surgery.

@sceriff hmm. It could possible work but I have a couple things I'd like to talk about in DMs. The  sphenomaxillary suture is essential for facepulling, which is why mse+fm works, and can bring the maxilla forward, since the sphenomaxillary suture gets split by mse. The good news for you, is that the mandible is easier to remodel than the maxilla. I will continue in DMs.

Thumbpulling definitely expands the palate, not sure about the maxilla though, as thats a large bone.

No, the theories do work, and the project is not dead. It's just a long term journey, and you need to put in a lot of effort and consciousness to get results. The problem is that not many people are willing to try to understand the logic behind it and experience it at a deep level. Sadly, even among the people trying to find a solution to this problem, many are still focused on mewing, mechanical orthodontics, or even surgeries.

Also, wholebodybreathing practice can sometimes be overwhelming and emotionally difficult. That's why some of us sometimes need to take a break from the world and from online forums. However, the project is still alive, and many of us are fully committed to achieving complete correction.

@tomtom Look, honestly I didn't understand the whole project either, despite trying to read as much information as possible.

Theory states that it is possible to change one's bony position of the face simply with this breathing technique?

And this would also apply to young adults or just developing adolescents.

Sorry if the question may be stupid 😄.

Yep, you're right!

Things are moving along. The forum was neglected for a while because frankly it's a ton of tech debt of code shoestringed together, so effort went elsewhere. In little bits and pieces I'll try to restart the forum when possible, as I think the internet has lost a lot with the decline of forums.

Please check out the testimonials on the homepage, what's available on the learn page, and the amazing practitioners who are taking this very far with clients.

@admin In fact, with all this dispersion of information I can no longer understand which theories have turned out to be correct and which have not.

I've tried following Discord, but it doesn't seem very reliable to me.

That's great if you are trying to read as much information as possible ! Actually, wholebodybreathing in its core is not a breathing technique but rather the process of removing blockages to allow you to breathe properly. We do this through fascia release, which can have effects all over the body, including the skull. Both adults and children can get results. I am 25 myself and receive skull adjustments every week from my practice.
I know it can be hard to believe at first that just breathing can have an effect on the skull, but it is actually possible. Many of us in the community are experiencing this. We also need to stop viewing the skull and the face as a special part of the body that is inherently different from other parts. From there, it is much easier to accept the idea that breathing can have an effect on your facial development.

@tomtom It's not that I don't believe it, but unfortunately no one in my area knows this technique, and I honestly didn't understand what to do...

Is there any Discord-type community where this is discussed? Thank you for your reply.

I'll try to consolidate information on the /learn page, slowly building it up

In the /learn page I'm hoping to have it clearly laid out, and also show who is available in your area to teach it

The theory and the community is really new, that's why you can't find people in your area. We are only a few hundred members for now, with few practitioners.

The discord is at the bottom of the main front page, it's https://discord.com/invite/w7EUpPad3w

You can pm me if you want more info or are interested in coaching ;)

@tomtom I'm interested in learning the technique, hoping it can help a 31-year-old man with skeletal class II, but I don't think so, unfortunately.

The Wholebodybreathing Instagram account yours?  @TGW
