I'm 24 years old. I had my upper palate expanded with a permanent aparatus (6months) that I had to expand everyday with a little tool, fun stuff. After that I had braces for a couple of years. That happened roughly 5 years ago.
I started mewing 20 days ago and I already have seen results in my palate. Now.. The problem I have is that I noticed my upper molars are spreading out like wings, is that normal or temporary? My other question is that if it's alright to mew with all my tongue force upwards, or it's just a gentle preassure? Because whenever I have the chance I push with my tongue as hard as I can for as long as I can.
I think it's natural for teeth to be tipped outward, and it should not affect the anatomy of the bite in any harmful for as long as you keep eating solid foods to maintain sufficient tooth alignment.
Tongue is a relatively weak muscles, so it is not easy to cause damage with forceful pushing. Experiment around with it and go with what feels the best. If I had to guess, ideal force is somewhere around the point where you are able to support the full weight of the skull with your tongue alone. This tends to feel the best for me, especially after relaxing the rest of the musculature around the neck & shoulder area. The sinuses open up, I feel warmer in the face and a sense of calm focus comes over me.
Got it, thanks buddy
