I'm 14 years and 1 month of age, I've been a nasal breather throughout my life and I have a narrow palate. So what should I expect to see when my sutures harden?

Um... so get RPE. If you're that young.. you can still get RPE. I know some try it up to late teens and even early 20s. I wouldn't dilly dally, though, as 14 is better than older... and the results vary on age. I've heard of 14 as being kind of a cut-off for some, as this is when better results start to taper. The palate fuses like a zipper from the back to the front. I don't know how long it takes... or when it starts for guy. I hear the palate zips about 8 months after a girl's first menstration. I think you're right there are the cut-off... even if it did zip. You'd have to see it by x-ray, I suppose to know where it's at. Thing is... orthodontist will use RPE at various ages... some go later than others... some say Damon braces is enough. I don't know how far you have to go... but if your palate is high... don't mess around. Get some opinions. I think it depends on how far you have to go in part. Depends on a number of factors including current intramolar width. Opinions are free. Get some!
What do you mean 'don't mess around' if my palate is high?
