My right upper lateral incisor has been crooked all of my pubescent life. Even braces didn't fully solve it since I had zero oral posture during the treatment. As soon as I stopped wearing my retainer, it regressed to its old crooked position, slightly overlapping the right upper front incisor adjacent to it.
Having adequately expanded my dental palate to accomodate the posterior portion of the tongure (1.5 years) I began to focus on the anterior portion of the dental palate. All four upper incisors are now spaced apart by about 1mm which is **** crazy because they were crowded and right two years ago. The crooked lateral incisor is now isolated and free to rotate into a position inline with my lips and tongue. Basically I'm straightening my teeth again. I've been getting borderline braces-tier soreness in that region.

so ya i have a 1mm diastema now or so, it will close once im done expanding and finished correcting tooth alignment.
to my knowledge, nobody on this planet is getting the sort of mewing results that i have. i got at it all day and all night. hehehehe happy happy hehe
And this is from mewing or did you use an oral appliance? Another question as well, where do you place the tip of your tongue, right behind the incisors (incisive papilla) or farther back?
i attribute this not solely but mostly to mewing. i mean i dabbled in facepulling but i do not believe that it had any long term effects.
yes my tongue rests exactly there hehehehehehheehehehehehehehhehehe
First of all, thanks to inform us and for sharing your progress. That really helps people believing this method and applying it. Anyways I had some questions...
Why are you so confident that your upper frontal teeth gap will close? Do you just have faith in this or is it your knowledge that makes you think that? I hope you are right anyways...
Then I'd like to ask if you, who had such amazing results, noticed changes about the space between your upper lip and your upper frontal teeth, since there are no explicit pictures that show this happened, in adults. So... is your upper lip covering now more area of your upper frontal teeth than before?
What's your intermolar width before and after?
This is precisely why I don't go close to the incisive papilla.
I want to go out wide on the outer palate not the inner palate.
Good job not having crowding but I doubt people want a midline diastema
Wait, is there downsides to going behind the teeth?
Mike Mew thinks that diastema could be caused by contact of the tongue with front teeths, of course thats not the case here (with incisive papilla), but question is, is this close enough (remember you are putting constant force there). I place my tongue little higher, so the force goes behind front ridges (tip lays freely on the front ridges).
Btw: I had diastema, before orthodontic work, and probably my tongue was touching front teeths due to poor posture, I'm now 4 months without retainer (plastic one) and no relapse so far (with proper posture) but its probably to early to tell if this will be the case.
Wait, is there downsides to going behind the teeth?
I doubt most people have perfect muscle control to prevent the tongue from thrusting forward during swallowing. Perhaps over time this can cause a diastema.
The way I see it, if your front teeth are too crowded you may need to go as forward as the incisive papilla. But once the crowding goes away your tongue is better off further up to expand out instead of forward
Remember expanding out gives the mandible room to move forward anyway. You can have a slight incisor movement but unless they are too crowded or tipped back I don't see the reason in trying to force the tongue all the way there.
Teeth respond the slight changes over time. What we see here is too much expansion in the anterior as opposed to lateral. If it was lateral, the middle incisors would have not separated.
Case by case basis honestly. There is no one size fits all to proper posture. We all need expansion in different directions.
I do bet OP's profile looks amazing thought. Many people with that much expansion have very forward jaws.
I always post this pic to Jamo threads because the change is so undeniable even in such a low quality image:

This guy's before pic looks similar to my recessed midface! My upper lip historically has been very far back. Ortho just used extractions to artificially make my mandible sit back.
I will take a 1 mm midline diastema for those facial aesthetics any day. That is what I *thought* ortho would make my profile look like.
Yeah, those changes are outstanding. He actually made a post on BTM to detail his methods and he stated that he is a proponent of 'hard mewing'. Check the second post in this image to see that (right click -> view image for full size, or go to https://i.imgur.com/yGHIcRC )

Ohhh ok. Jamo did you have a class 3 Maloclussion?
