The weaker, "droopier" side of my face

A very common concern in facial development is asymmetry.

I am 20 years old, and personally have facial asymmetries that have a very noticeable effect in photographs, but sometimes also a noticeable effect in my jaw's health when chewing hard foods (slight clicking on right TMJ).

I can recall photographs from years prior in which my face consistently looked as if it is weaker, less defined, and more "droopy" on the right side than the other. The affected side has a negative canthal tilt, weaker masseters, and generally less jaw and cheekbone definition. I did have orthodontic treatment, which can cause (or worsen) asymmetries in the face, but I do remember having cavities on the RIGHT side of my mouth, causing me to form the habit of almost exclusively chewing on the LEFT side of my mouth instead for years to come. As a result, the left side that I have chewed on just looks normal compared to the right. I have considered nerve weakness as a potential issue, though I have never noticed such a symptom and instead believe it to be habit. As it stands, my mandible causes a midline discrepancy by shifting to the "droopy" side more than it aligns with the middle of my face. In order to correct the appearance of an uneven jaw, I slightly move my jaw to the left side, which feels more natural for my jaw but not my teeth. That is how my teeth seem to effectively line up. Here is a drawing exactly representing my condition:

current state

Now my question lies in how to improve or correct my habits to exactly pinpoint the issue.

Should I take up chewing only on the droopier right side of my face to build the masseters (even if my jaw shifts towards that side) to try to even out everything?

Should I be mewing/hard mewing on one side? Which side?

Should I try to force my jaw (away from the side my teeth cause it to gravitate to) to the middle of my face?''

Should I try to even out my jaw (move to the left) while still chewing on the right?

etc.

Again, I am 20, so I can only expect reasonable change within a reasonable time frame. However, that is why I feel it is incredibly important to know precisely what it is to do when attempting to correct a time-sensitive issue like this. I understand many on here have similar symptoms to some degree, and many people who have Bell's palsy or some similar affliction have very similar symptoms and might be looking for the answer to their problems as well. If you have anything to advise, please do so.

I'm not completely sure on this topic, but just know I have the same situation as you. One side of my face is much narrower and seems dead compared to my other side. What I'm currently thinking is that this asymmetry is caused by my TMJ dislocating, causing my jaw to over deviate to one side, which leaves the other side unsupported. Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYWa1fsjjJQ

At this moment, I'm thinking of visiting a physical therapist/ chiropractor to see if I can somehow readjust my jaw back into place, then again I'm still not sure what the root cause is. Lets find a solution!

Also have you gotten braces? I feel like braces have the potential to cause asymmetry by putting the teeth into straight but not favorable orientation for the jaws, causing them to eventually misalign and become asymmetric.

Super late reply, but yes I had braces at around age 16-18. I suffered from jaw clicking and (rarely) light dislocation as a result of that treatment. I tried my best to find images of myself head on before I had braces, and my jaw was not uneven. Yet another face an ortho has destroyed.
