Great to see some solid support for Mike Mews theory that its mainly the lack of masticatory effort in the modern diet which has caused a gross change in facial form and sky high rise in malocclusion.

The article also mentions some interesting things: "Mitchell's simulations using the digital skull showed that the cheekbones provided a foundation for muscles to prevent jaw dislocation and the front and roof of the skull created an arch to prevent any twisting during chewing".

This indicates that the toughness of the diet impacted the placement and shape of the upper jaw, and not just the mandible. The cheekbones (maxilla) play an essential role in preventing jaw dislocation, therefore it would only make sense that the toughness of the diet is a determining factor in maxilla placement. This also explains why our ancestors could chew basically all day without getting jaw joint problems.

Nice, I love kangaroos they look buff lol

Is there like an official chewing routine on here?  I've just been chewing with my mouth open and trying to use my tongue to push the gum around and not my cheeks.  I am using like 10 sticks of gum until I order mastic gum it's not really hard, but I want to get the technique perfect first.
