Mentalis

One side of my mentalis muscle is more prominent than the other. Maybe this has to do with chronically activating it to maintain lip competence. I don't know if this is related to my occlusal cant but my lips angle higher on the same side. Short of botox injections to atrophy the hypertrophic side, I wonder if exercising both sides by repeating a pouting motion and dimpling the chin would help to even them out or just make matters worse.

Is the bone asymmetrical in the same way? Wouldn't the muscle just follow the scaffolding it's on?

It appears like the muscle itself is hypertrophied on one side, but I guess the underlying bone could be protruding more. My mandible is asymmetric from my occlusal cant. Still, I wonder if exercising the mentalis could camouflage the imbalance.
