I've been lurking on this forum a bit today, and I saw some mention of celebrities. It makes me feel better to see that there are some celebs with longer faces who are still beautiful. But I saw another post where someone said that Bella Hadid did not have a long face clinically. I've been basing almost everything I know on the ratio of eye-to-eye distance to eye-to-lip distance. I was told on other forums and articles that the idea midface is when the inter-pupillary distance matches the distance from eye to lip. But I also read that you're still considered within the realm of pretty if the distance between the outer corners of each iris matches the distance from your eye to lip. (I usually fall in the latter category, though in some photos I even exceed that length.) They said that that's why people like Sarah Jessica Parker and Lily Tomlin are considered unattractive, because their midfaces exceed the "acceptable" length.
But what about celebrities like Bella Hadid, who often barely makes the acceptable length? And what about Liv Tyler and Ashley Tisdale and Elize Ryd who fall within the acceptable but not ideal length? Is every woman with a long midface automatically doomed to ugliness?
Bella Hadid has had a lot of cosmetic work fixing her jaw and nose. If you see her before pictures, its quite a dramatic difference and she was of average attractiveness before.
Also, There are a lot of people who may not fit into these hard and fast rules who would be considered attractive. I think the main distinction is that most people will agree that the person with good facial form/bone structure will be agreed to be more attractive than those without either or. Kim Kardashian is another example of a beautiful person with a longer midface and narrow facial structure though she is no Irina Shayk. So it's more a matter of degree as opposed to a dichotomy.
1. You shouldn't care what the media promotes as attractive.
2. Many celebrities get work done and that can make up for any "faults" they have
3. Bella, Liv, Ashley, and Elize may have long midface ratios but it appears as if they still have smaller absolute facial sizes compared to Sarah Jessica Parker and Lily Tomlin. A large face - especially relative to the cranium - is a masculine and archaic trait. Lily Tomlin looks masculinized and archaic. Sarah Jessica Parker does too but less so compared to her.

Here's that thread with some pictures:

I was surprised how many people disagreed with me about the length of Bella's face.
Bella definitely has a tall face. It isn't a naturally model caliber face as it has weak neoteny for a female. But I still find her attractive.
