Are Diastemmas inherently a bad sign?

So I grew up with a lot of gapping between my 4 upper front teeth (incisors), though no bite issues, crowding, nor wisdom teeth extractions (had enough space for them). Was wondering if there was anything inherently bad with gaps/diastemas or are they just considered a cosmetic flaw?

It sounds like you are lucky to have broad arches if you have enough space for your wisdom teeth plus room to spare for gaps.

I measured my tooth molds and my inter molar width came out to ~38mm (female). Dr.Mew said the adult averages were 29-34mm though ideal was >=42mm for female and >=44mm for males. So above average but still not ideal.

Tongue thrust can contribute to diastemas. Improving your tongue posture and swallow technique might help.
