Just wondering if there is a relation between poor back/neck posture and neck length. Could leaning over while sitting or similar activities cause the neck to stretch out?
I may be wrong but this actually compresses the neck. I have had forward head posture most of my life and my neck is rather short
I thought so too, but its just an illusion. I feel like a giraffe now when I correct my neck posture but thats because Im just seeing more of my neck. I used to lean forward which made the neck seem shorter from the front.
Forward head posture shortens the neck and compresses the discs between the vertebrates in the neck. You will become taller when you correct it.

Correct head posture is referred to as "lengthening the neck", bad posture shortens it.
