Hi I have a huge Torus palatinus on the roof of my mouth and when I got to mew on the back part of my mouth I can feel my tongue just resting on it. What should I do? Thanks

Yes, you can.

When mewing with a torus palatinus the difference for me is to think suction, not pressure, and you have to go behind the torus. "Pressing" just bruised the torus and made me feel yucky and hopeless. Here's what I did: soften your tongue, move it back in the mouth so  that the tip is rather at the back, rather than the front, of the palatine rugae--the little ridges on the roof of your mouth--and then suck gently, allowing the suction to lift your tongue to the soft palate and mold around the torus palatinus.

Stay like that roughly forever. It should be your new resting position. You will have to correct yourself a million times a day for months to form a new habit, and that's okay. Once you get used to it, you can also think about stretching your tongue forward and to the side while you're at it, but I do think the back is the foundational habit.

Good luck!!
