Read less questionable anecdotes and focus more on what you can empirically feel yourself. Each case is unique. It's pointless to take advice from someone who is at a different stage of anatomical/functional development than you. Do whatever feel reasonable to you and do it often. Time will show whether that was the right direction or not. In either case, you still need to re-learn your tongue posture every few weeks as the hard and soft tissues change.
Aches are normal. Severe pain is not.
As for sleeping, go sleep in a position where the jaws stay shut. If all else fails, tape your mouth shut with a micropore tape
maybe you have to train your tongue more? dr.mike's 'tongue chewing' exercise really helps, as you chew gum with your tongue with your mouth closed your jaw muscles will act as antagonist in order to stay shut. idk maybe your case is different but i remember myself waking up with my mouth open but this exercise did wonders
Are aches/clicks/throbbing/pressure sensations really normal? I've never experienced any thing of the sort despite mewing all day with rather moderate pressure and doing lots of chewing gum exercises. That being said, prior to mewing I've always been a closed-teeth nose breather so maybe the change isn't as extreme for me. I'm concerned that a lack of aching means a lack of development. Anyone here who can shed some insight on this?
In regards to what OP said about the guy who had negative results from a suction hold; I could see that happening. The point of the suction hold is simply to anchor your tongue to the palate and make it more comfortable. If you aren't counteracting that pulling/vacuum force with upwards pressure then you are literally pulling down your maxilla which is probably worse than no tongue action at all! You want at a minimum 1 grams worth of force in the upwards direction, which while that is not much at all is still substantially more than having your tongue pulling your palatte down. cheers
So i shouldnt fell presure in my face at all is that true? And i wana know how toungue stops mouth breathing i raise my tongue back of my throat normaly i can steal breath and when i do suction with my tongue i canot breath with mouth open in this case suction hold beter for me?
Mewing makes my throat feel discomfort. I think its dangerous.
