De-Ossify Skull Sutures, or unfuse the skull

The closing of the cranial/skull sutures is called ossification. This is what they say prevents growth and remodelling in adults. There's huge evidence that many sutures (namely mid palate) dont fuse.

But since this fusing is basically the difference between us and kids, isn't it out main obstacle to moving the maxilla forward? How can be de-ossify the sutures?

I've yet to read anything where de-ossification was the explicit goal.  Your line of thinking makes sense to me -- barring some other medical detail I am unaware of. "If we can make the environment more like that of children then we unlock the hidden potential!"

In my mind the simplest/most natural de-ossification comes from causing stress onto the sutures. Closest thing to it that I can think of.
Or I see the progression in my head as being (minor minor de-ossification as a result of the physical stresses we place on the skull --> movement and expansion --> repairs and ossifies into new bone growth)

Powermewing (Test151515's version of Placing intense pressure against the palate/sutures/etc.)
NCR and related manipulations of skull/sphenoid
The driling sites created in jaw surgery count as deossification???
I'm running out of ideas here.

Someone else take over for me.
Also have read something about vitamin balances/imbalances causing the bones to become weaker which....i suppose creates an environment in which deossification is possible????

Devil's advocate: However, the other adrenal/physiological/hormonal/etc factors are also something worth noting; in that sense no matter how much we try to make adults have the same qualities of a child in order to equalize growth potential.. SOMETHING will always be unequal.
But I know what you're saying.

Listen, for me this is a touchy subject in which i'm no expert.  Best wishes.

This is what I was trying to get at in my "Nutrition" thread. I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me would break it down. I must be oversimplifying this, but to achieve bone remodeling, it seems to me that we want an abundance (but not excess) of vitamins which encourage both osteoclasts (cells which break down bone) and osteoblasts (cells which build up bone). So vitamin A stimulates parathyroid hormone's osteoclastic activity, liberating calcium from bones into the blood, and vitamin D stimulates osteoblastic activity, depositing calcium from the blood in the bone. Vitamin K2 and magnesium seem to be important modulators of this mineralization balance. While I'm trying to improve my diet, I am also debating supplementing a multivitamin, D3, K2, and magnesium. Vitamin A excess has some bad side effects so for that I will stick with only the multivitamin and food sources. I also think that my dietary calcium intake is adequate. Do you think taking these supplements would be worthwhile? Do you have suggestions for any specific foods or other vitamins, minerals, or trace elements that you think are important for bone remodeling?

Im not the one to discuss this with

I wish I was able to enrage further, but my nutrition focus has been elsewhere. Relationship between elements/minerals/vitamins and bone is not my forte. (My knowledge is more about rosacea/candida/internal gut bacteria/hormonal imbalance. I can talk about which amino acidds involve sulfur, consequences of selenium deficiency, or )

i politely ask someone to get back to Apollo on this — the guy deserves it. Thanks.

I think you're the resident expert on nutrition. The other person who was very involved in this was Tyler, and he disappeared from the BTM forum and never came back. I am currently using a multi-vitamin with pretty much the A-Z of vitamins/minerals/supplements. I am also taking a K2 supplement (there is none in the multivitamin) and a calcium supplement (I've cut back dairy consumption considerably). This is because I have switched to a vegan diet in 95% of my meals in the last months - I don't turn down food others cook for me so there is still meat and dairy sometimes.

I think that just as much as getting the proper nutrition in, we need to focus on keeping bad stuff out! Cutting back on intoxicants, sugars, too much salt etc frees up the body to work on development rather than on extraction of toxins and repair of damage. For this reason I intermittent fast on a 18/6 plan, during fasting the body moves into autophagy which is a mode dedicated to repairing cells and fixing the body. The benefits of fasting for repair and rejuvenation are worth looking into, my longest water fast was two weeks and I saw immense improvements in health.

I also see that there are genetic differences in nutritional requirements and what the body tolerates / likes. Many people do not process dairy, east Asians process alcohol differently than Caucasians:  I'm starting to think that our bodies are adapted to the diets that our specific ancestors had for thousands of years. The hunter-gatherers of India ate different plants and animals with different enzymes than those in Europe or Africa or East Asia or America - so their bodies have thousands of years of adaption oriented to that plant/animal diet.

Nutrition, fasting, supplementation etc is a topic that could use an entire forum board by itself, but I don't want to split up discussions yet! If there comes a time when there's too much traffic on this board for a topic, and the users request it be seperated, I'll create another board.

@irmathurma your idea is well-founded. I think that force on the sutures is enough by itself to de-ossify them, pulling them apart reintroduces growth and breaks up the calcium deposits that had formed. There is a substantial amount of evidence that the idea of ossification in adulthood is incorrect, and that the skull should never permanently fuse in healthy adults.

Having said that, you're completely right that this is an avenue to look into!
