Is there any expander that focuses on upward growth?
The DNA with acrylic between the teeth does. It's supposed to create a bit of counter-rotation to the lower face. It has been designed for TRUE melting faces. The acrylic (basically a splint) can adjust condyles, so I generally would not use personally. Basically, the concept (as I have heard it explained)... is that the acrylic is designed to close an open bite or help with a divergent growth pattern. However, absent those things, I'm honestly skeptical of the use of it that particular design. Additionally, I personally would never speak with it in, as it can stretch the philtrum. Also, from what little I have heard... I would not like to have acrylic between teeth... unless it is adjusted as needed. I have never personally heard of DNA doing this. Also, I hate having removeables as you're bound to lose one and can have progress evaporate in a matter of days. I totally hate that. Also.. I don't love that the bottom teeth don't have grooves to be in. So... there's a few things... but it's a optomistic start.
Thanks for reply, im wondering what kind of expander would be best for me becouse my forward growth and pallate width is not bad, but upward growth is lacking
Braces may be able to create a slight counter-rotation. If you go to someone with a more protrusive chin, they often can do that well upon request. Braces do give some forward movement, though. If you don't want bigger lips, I'd steer towards traditional braces (as opposed to self-ligating).
So braces are good for upward growth? My teeth is perfectly straight tho, thanks for reply
The nasal passageways are super critical to health and wellbeing.
