Does anyone know of any orthodontists/orthotropists in the UK that are willing to use the crane on patients? The crane website doesn't list anyone in the UK that specifically does it but I was wondering if there any professionals that agree that adult maxilla development is possible and would be willing to use the device? It's a fairly simple one to use from what I can gather and really just requires someone to fit a specific moulded device for the patient and to supervise its use.
The crane can only be ordered by a medical professional which rules out using it by myself, and I know the vast majority of professionals don't agree with the ideas exposed by the Mews and others trying to get a change in adults, so I doubt I'll get anywhere just asking random dentists/orthodontists. I made a thread a few months ago explaining how I've been struggling to get further changes after good results and sadly I still haven't managed to push through that plateau so I was hoping the crane might be the solution.
Please let me know your thoughts, thanks.
Try contacting osteopaths and chiropractors and getting their thoughts. The ones I asked about it at least understood the idea of facepulling, meanwhile the dentist I asked didn't even agree with the idea of resting your tongue on the palate. Next week is when I can rule out or confirm tongue tie, so after that I'll probably go back to the same people I asked and see if they'd treat me with the Crane, unless the oral surgeon would. It would really be nice to learn more about the Crane first; I emailed the site and was told they'd get back to my questions "over the weekend", which was nearly two weeks ago. It's a little hard to jump into such an endeavor without knowing a lot more about it.
