I know mewing is not all about looks, it is about health too. But I was wondering how much have your looks improved by in the looks scale and tell me what facial adjustments made you think that.

Example: Better jaws, hollow cheeks, straighter teeth. those things.

Are you sure the larger zygos effect is not a placebo? did you measure it or take same condition pictures? Also what age?

You can go to the topic 'assorted stories from the web' and find that before and after that teen where it says "what almost one year of mewing did to me",

Okay I'm a bit confused when you're mentioning a taller face do you mean a larger cranial size? And if that's what you mean then great a large skull (or one that appears large) is appealing to the female eye.

I mean my face is less round and more oval since my lower third height has increased. I also have a tall forehead so tall forehead + long ramus = tall face.

Whether it is universally appealing to women I don't care. I don't look like a pretty boy. My face is quite robust just like everyone else on my family. But I like my features.

I've been wondering where Krollic has up to, anybody know about he's up to? I really miss him because the posts he makes are so interesting.

If you don't believe that proper posture makes you better looking, fine. You should still be doing it for health reasons.

Good thing that health and attractiveness might as well be the same thing.

@fred I've had quite a bit of stuff going on lately hence my absence. Also, if I'm speaking honestly I feel like I have a pretty solid grasp on oral posture now and that has made me less inclined to be stick around on the forum; which is frankly really selfish of me. I couldn't have progressed to where I am now w/o the collaboration of users on this website. I owe it myself and others to help out the people here who've helped me. When I get more time in the near future I'll put more dedication in this pursuit.

I also think there's an ungodly amount of placebo related anecdotes in this forum regarding mewing. Honestly I think all mewing can do (if you were previously a mouth breather) is over the course of YEARS have a super minimal change in the jaw area, so slight that an outside observer would have trouble seeing what you're talking about until you point it out and explain for them.

I think the only thing that can make a noticeable improvement are one of the appliances or orthognathic surgery. I don't blame people though, it's a very nice thought that you can transform your jaw and become more attractive all just by pasting your tongue to the roof of your mouth, but come on guys... taking it way too far.

Not sure about skeletal changes, but my turkey neck area beneath my chin is now way more tight and my chin looks way better as a result. That's after only 2 weeks. I took before and after photos for my own purposes and they leave nothing to debate. I have been mewing pretty hard though when I can and just maintaining good posture when I can't. I definitely doubt the skeletal changes, but the muscular changes and the insane improvement to my breathing are gonna keep me doing this for some time to come.

@ohwhatthehell What do you mean "for some time to come"? You're doing this for the rest of your life.

What's a taller face and why does that happen? Also, how do you keep track of that growth. I feel like my face is taller but I don't  understand what bone(s) grew or moved. It's a change in the upper third part of my face, I believe, possibly chewing related? It looks better but I hope my ramus is next. Anyone see change there? As for my main change, shortened midface, took 5 years to begin to achieve noticibly.

Remember this pain... and let it activate you.

I have no idea how long I'm doing it, but I've seen enough changes in 2 weeks that I'm going to keep doing it until I don't think it's helping me anymore.

In the picture the man (all the way to the left) has a tall face, and the difference between a tall face and a long face is that a tall face maintains proportions and a long face is quite narrow. As for my ramus at least for me, it has some more definition I don't have to adjust my self to see bone definition.

Long face = long midface

Tall face = short midface, long ramus (sometimes long forehead too if your hairline sucks)

I have absorbed all information available on the topic of mewing and its ilk for the past 8 months. Proper mewing for 6 months and I have to say i have really seen no results. I still "believe", it will work though it definitely is an extremely long process when over the age of 18 (i'm 21), its a brutal reality but a reality nonetheless

I've been mewing for over a year now. The only things that have changed for me have been muscle tone. My massaters are a whole lot stonger and my lips and tounge have also increased in strength. Can't say much about the bone structure. I would still be happy to mew knowing I would get no facial changes because going from the life of a mouth breather to a nose breather is all worth it

Idk I don't have a "big" forehead per se. I just don't have a small one with a low young guy hairline. But my forehead slopes so my high ish hairline isn't making my forehead too big. Usually I think if your forehead is taller than your lower third then it is too big.

What causes a sloping forehead besides forward head posture?

T levels. This is why men have them more than women. But.  Some European women have this trait though

wider face, more prominent Zygos, jaw line augmented through constant Mastic chewing. Oh and over 2mm of IDW increase, Bear in mind most of this was chieflya result of thumb based face pulling as opposed to mewing (the latter is just as important). I too thought my changes were my minds eye playing tricks, but the shadows and the noticeable expansion giving a more manly appearance were too difficult to dismiss. That and the fact I was getting the occasional  double-stares from the opposite sex pretty much put that assumption  to bed - unless it was simply my confidence shining through?

How do you increase lower third height?

@bigdino1 It's just because their jaw has grown more downwards and has gotten a little wider. This happened because of chewing on hard foods and chewing gum.

Can you also increase it by just mewing?

I'm pretty sure you heard about the "facial upswing" which is caused by the maxilla being brought up and forwards bringing the mandible up with it.

The tightening of the turkey neck area beneath your chin is likely as a result of the submentalis muscle being contracted when you engage the back of your tongue against the palate. Lots of people report this when mewing.
