I can't seem to unlock my jaw from being stuck near my ear no matter how much pressure I apply to the maxilla. When this happens I have to drop my tongue posture and start over again and the process repeats.
While mewing I can hear clicking noises underneath my ear which to me suggest that my ramus is moving downwards from my skull. However these noises stop after a few minutes and the gonian refuses to go down.
I suspect this is due to an antegonial notch I have on both sides, which resists any pressure I apply to my maxilla from the soft palate. It is pretty demotivating feeling like your maxillary growth is being restricted by an antegonal notch. Can anyone shed some light on this if you have experienced the same thing?
Not sure what the antigonial lock is but I can tell you that is sounds like what you're actually experiencing is clicking of the TMJ, which is BAD. How hard are you mewing?

Antegonial notch is the groove that forms at the corner of your jaw when it moves into your skull from downward growth. Here is a pic illustrating the difference:

Tried applying pressure again and the gonial angle is not reducing. Any suggestions?
My current mewing technique is pulling a cheesy smile & swallowing while sitting upright.
No statistically significant correlation was seen between the vertical craniofacial morphology and the depth of the antegonial notch.

How long have you been mewing? Takes a while for gonial angle changes. Simply pressing harder won't do anything significant .
