Hello,

I have the y-plate expander ( https://www.bracesshop.com/en/palatal-expanders/1/y-plate/3-way-schwarz-upper-jaw?c=56) and have used for about 6 months. I have seen some minor improvements along with mewing and using jawliner, however I am wondering if I sanded down the front plate so it doesn't touch the teeth and then turned the front plate forward a couple times would that simulate pressure on the incisive papilla for forward growth without tipping the front teeth?

Thanks

It will probably not cause forward growth.

1. Not enough force

2. It's anchored to the molars, the forward force of the appliance also pushes the molars backwards, granted, molars are harder to move than incisors.
