Hi I'm 18 female and I need experiences to decide how should I schedule my mewinnnnnng.
How hard should hardmewing be? Should I push from muscle? How much? When I simply keep my tongue up how would that change anything? I tried to hardmew keeping the full surface of my tongue on the full surface of the roof, not touching the upper teeth, symetrycally, yes the backĀ of the tongue "swallow push" too(which makes everything difficult, how am I supposed to push not one point but the full). Without pushing I can keep it there by now I only started yesterday but how do I not tire my bodyparts without cauding damage, how do you do it? How does it feel, taste? Are my teeth too big? Is this harder than ballet? Why isn't there a hard mewing gadget or brace already for nighttime?
Ok my the last serious question is: How long do average plain faces take to reach the expected look? What about without hardmewing? I don't want to wait 3 years. I guess I will need tongue exercises so it won't be convulsive, tho it seems to be anyways...
Thanks for anything!
Are you aware that "hard mewing" goes against what Dr. Mike Mew teaches in his videos?
my story: http://www.aljabri.com/blog/my-story/
I was thinking since braces hurt too, it can't be bad, but it's more complicated. Today I saw Astro Sky's "Tongue Posture Demystified" and resting it is more comfortable now, if I get used to it, I will wait that 3 yrs or more. I should wait 1-2week to ask more specific questions then. But I still don't get if I should feel pain or notĀ forexample.
I have to strongly advice against "hard mewing" or anything that feels painful, tense or unnatural. I caused myself lots of pain in just about ten months and have now TMJ disorder type symptoms - jaw joint pain, clicking, tension headaches etc. which seem to get worse. I didn't even chew hard things for the most time, just focused on tongue posture and swallowing. If you want to learn about correct oral posture, go see a myofunctional therapist or Dr Mew himself to learn properly without causing damage to yourself. For now, you can start simply by keeping your mouth shut (lips together, teeth slightly apart - no clenching!), breathing through your nose only and chewing your food well (on both sides!). And make sure your tongue doesn't touch your teeth. Keeping the tip of the tongue on your palate, slightly behind your upper incisors, will make sure you won't cause any harm to your teeth. From an aesthetic standpoint, losing overall bodyfat (through resistance training & good diet) will make your face look more defined and attractive. But health should always come first, you only have one body. Anything extreme will sooner or later make you regret it, at least in my experience.Ā

I started mewing about 6 months ago and i would mew very hard along with clenching teeth i started having headaches and popping in my jaw and i now stopped hard mewing and clenching its been 3 weeks but i still get slightly headaches do you think i should just stop mewing also what's the correct way to mew? Thank you
I won't hardmew much then😊gl solving that
Keeping my tongue too close to my throat hurted, well at first I assumed that the root of my tongue is my throat, I wasn't using mirror to see in my mouth, so swallowing and moving my jaw became slightly harder for a hour. And my throat hurt like I am ill, even tho Im not...xD It was easier to keep my tongue on the roof this way, so it got me confused, but I should probably not push the part where my throat is.
So I practiced moving my tongue in the mirror and placing the back of it there and lying the rest. Repeated it with closed mouth. But the tongue comes from down so I can't deform it to start from the very back, and I can't get it up unless I force it up with my throat/clench my teeth which are harmful. So I guess some youtuber is good at complicating things so we misunderstand and they seem useful.
So if I do as I should it feels like sqeezing and forming my tongue instead, or i just feel butterfy wings on my roof...Ā
Doesn't your tongue feel numb af? 😁
that's exactly what the link below says:Ā

"See mewing as such doesnāt have any problem because you arenāt forcing but just trying to get the right posture. With hard mewing, itās no longer touching but rather pressing."
