I was reading an article about Caitlin Price and found that one of the theories on tongue posture was that if you were to keep your lips together and breathe through your nose, the suction force from breathing in pulls your tongue to the top with good posture.

"According to Dr. Steven Sue of Honolulu, when the mouth is closed and one breathes through the nose, a vacuum is formed which keeps the tongue up in the roof of the mouth, thereby preventing it from sliding back into the throat to obstruct the airway." ( https://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/notes-from-yesteryear/100-years-before-weston-price/)

I've found this to be true for me, and if this is true for everyone then it would be much easier to maintain tongue posture as all one would have to do is keep their lips together. Thoughts?

Thank you for sharing this.

I've noticed this too when I do breathing exercises. But then bad habits come again, meaning using the lips and suctioning on the teeth when swallowing. The only thing that really helps me with that is to do consecutive push swallows maintaining a cheesy smile (which in turn also assists with nasal breathing) until I feel better.

So I would say both are good ways to achieve the same thing and using both as a complement to each other should make things easier to relearn/learn good habits.
