As i have been mewing over the past week or so, I have developed the need to swallow very frequently, due to an uncomfortable build up of excess saliva .
The problem with this is that i seem to have to suck my cheeks in toward my teeth in order to get the saliva to the roof of my mouth to then swallow.
My question is: Will the production of saliva decrease over time so that the need to swallow is less frequent? And how is it possible to collect the saliva from the bottom of the mouth to the top without sucking in the cheeks?
Here's how you swallow without using your cheeks... Mike explains it the best.

Rather than the production of saliva decreasing with time, I think you will get used to the new rate of production. We swallow thousand of times a day, after all. Every new habit/change will feel strange at the first. But since we are talking about natural reflexes here, it should feel good and natural with time.
I think placing the tongue in the right place would regulate the function of the parotid glands, which produce saliva, but I'm not sure.
It could also be, that you having trouble with the right way of swallowing, makes you more aware of the saliva that builds up. And that when you suck using your facial muscles, you dont feel the flow, since you are already used to it and the saliva flows directly in. In this case, the more practice you have with swallowing only your tongue, the easier it will become and you'll get used to it.
Either way, learn the suction hold that Mike teaches to correct the tongue's swallowing function.
I have the same problems but nobody has an answer to this
I had this problem in the beginning but don’t notice it anymore, been mewing for 15 months.
