I’ve heard a lot about upward rotation but I don’t really know how to get it. It’s it just chewing or what? Ive heard it helps the under eye area.

Head and tongue posture (hard mewing)
What is hard mewing, is it effort or pressure applied being applied unto the palate?

It's mewing, just extra hard. People report all kinds of effects and feelings, a lot of which I simply think has to do it with fatigue, soreness, and wearing away at the tissue where the hard contact is being made. Also, you're not gonna keep this up forever, what happens when you stop and that force is no longer there? At least normal mew works on the principle that proper oral posture is your tongue always at the roof of your mouth for a small but constant pressure that's always there.

It's just like Mew has said, the body and tongue posture, tongue strength and suction hold all work together to give that passive pressure (that you don't have to think about constantly as with hard mewing). I used to hard mew and now get the same pressure I'd get with hard mewing just because my tongue strength, suction hold technique and posture have improved. The science is seemingly against its efficacy and the potential for damage seems quite real too: someone who used to post here gave herself an open bite from hard mewing (granted her technique wasn't good) and I just read a post on Mew's latest video about someone losing their canine tooth to hard mewing. Reading the FAGGA thread it can be noted that tongue pushups applied to "the pad" area is a significant driver of the forward growth as per the dentist that posts here about FAGGA. If you believe you get benefit from hard mewing, most likely you could also do even better with putting more effort in to correcting posture, as well as chewing more and especially tongue chewing more.
Remember this pain... and let it activate you.
