Seems he defines Mewing as a set of a exercises and practices -- chin tuck, abs walk, proper swallow + posture during meals, tongue chewing.
Have not seen him recommend what is referred to in this forum as "hard mewing" where the tongue is pushed up against the roof and spread in all dimensions. Is this an adaptation of tongue chewing? And "soft mewing" seems to be just good tongue posture as he defines it.
Am I confused?
"mewing" = correct oral posture, i.e. "tropic premise" (lips together, teeth in light or near contact, tongue on the roof of the mouth). To this Mike Mew has added a focus on good swallowing technique, head/body posture, and other exercises, but I think of these as supplements to "Mewing."
To my knowledge he hasn't addressed the idea of "hard mewing" or actively pushing the tongue against the palate with more than passive resting force, except in promoting exercises like tongue chewing ( https://youtu.be/ZNocCJNicrc ) or tongue push-ups ( https://youtu.be/b-nJwjShjTY ). He was asked about it in questions submitted for the next Q/A, so hopefully he will talk about it more directly when he completes that video.
Many adults seem to have achieved remarkable improvements by pushing really hard with the tongue. What is your view on hard forces vs light forces for adult patients?

Do you consider hard mewing as the best way to mew? i ask this because it seems the people with the most significant results all hard mew. If not then what would you recommend as the best exercise for tongue? tongue chewing?

Like many others here on the forum, I'd like to know what you think of the hard mewing, if you support it and for how many minutes a day.
Thanks that definitely helps. Will be interesting to see what he says about hard mewing.
