Do upper lip tongue ties prevent proper oral posture? Just realized I have one.
Was just reading Michale Chatham's account of her dramatic transformation using just frenectomies and myofunctional therapy: https://www.michalechatham.com/blog/celebrating-two-years-migraine-free#comments
In the comments she mentions she had both an under-tongue and upper-lip frenectomy.
Having a frenulum is normal, if it doesn't inhibit movement of the lip then it's fine. You can check for a tongue tie by opening your mouth 3 fingers wide and seeing if you can touch the incisive papilla with the tongue, for the lip check if you can flip the lip outwards/upwards, if you feel the frenulum tightening when you do this you might have a lip tie.
