anyone experience this? i think ive heard this means your sutures are cracking
Yes, I often get cracking/popping sounds in my ears when I push up/forward on my palate. I've mentioned this in the thread about my routine and elsewhere. I take it to mean that I have achieved some mobilization along suture lines. I hear it mostly in my right ear, which is the side of my maxilla farther down and back. Sometimes I also hear it in my left ear, although typically fainter. The sounds were more frequent after each time I advanced my expander, but I can still elicit the sounds from tongue pressure even after maxing out my expander.
What is a suture? I think this is vernacular on this thread. I can only find it being referred to as stitches on google

If you are just holding the pressure you won't hear a shift. I hear it when I push and then release like tongue push ups. For me initially, the sounds would come in cycles that correlated with advancing my expander. I would turn the screw and then I would hear these cracking/popping sounds more frequently for the next few days, and then they would abate until I turned the screw again. Eventually it got to the point that I could always hear the shift in my right ear when I pressed on the maxilla, but the sounds is less consistent in my left ear. I don't think it was a matter of pushing hard with my tongue, it was a matter of getting enough expansion that my sutures loosened up.
