does myobrace move the mandible forward?

The one dentist is suggesting that I use a myobrace for TMJ before doing any palate expansion. They said it will move my mandible up and forward slightly which would alleviate the down and back position my mandible is currently in, causing the TMJ to be out of alignment. I haven't seen this use for myobrace anywhere else though, so I'm confused about the whole thing..

I would like to know as well.. on various websites and the brochure I received with it, it does say that it does correct both ways and that mandible follows as the maxilla widens, but I’ve gotten mixed answers everywhere. Would be great if someone knows or can speak from experience.

@cindystown that is good to hear that it is a claim they make -- I couldn't even find that on the website. Maybe I didn't look enough. So are you using the myobrace now? is it the TMJ system?

@vplatt I used it for six months and nothing changed, it felt like it’s about to give me tmj and it was frustrating sleeping with it, I’m considering buying a Schwartz or rme expander, the providers near by me are very expensive and I can’t afford the treatments, so looked into these

@cindystown thanks for sharing, that is helpful info. Especially because the provider quoted me 5K for the myobrace. I am emailing with Dr. Hang and he didn't specify which appliances but seemed to think forward growth while fixing the TMD was possible / simple even.

Also, the one who suggested myobrace also suggested to use a regular expander after that, including the Schwarz you linked.
