I have been trying to Mew for some time but inconsistently. I got more serious about it about 10 days ago. I noticed something was off about my face in the mirror yesterday and decided to take bunch of photos. The comparassion between 10 day difference photos was huge. My:
-Midface became longer
-Huge Dark circles appeared under my eyes,at first I thought it was from lack of sleep but it's not. Loss of undereye support
-Eyes are less wide and sharp and more round. Most noticeable changes are in them
The midfacial area in between my Nose and eyes looks longer. I cant believe my face got so fucking worse in 10 days. It seems that something caused huge CW rotation of the maxilla. The huge negative changes appeared just as I started "proper swallowing". I obviously didn't do the swallows properly and every time I did it the back of my tounge hit hard on soft palate causing a loud cracking sound. I believe this caused the CW rotation. I am fairly young and since huge negative change appeared in short amount of time I hope it's reversible. I desperately need a CCW rotation. I would applaud photos but since there are so many lurkers I am not comfortable.
For now my plans are to completely drop Mewing and stop the damn swallowing and just hold good posture and chew gum for CCW rotation. My older brother (also fairly young) made huge postural improvement since he stopped playing computer games so much last year and a half and I have literally seen him gain forward growth and crazy cheekbone change. I think posture alone can make huge positive changes.
Could someone knowledgeable please contact me privately maybe?

Dramatic changes (good or bad) don't happen in 10 days from oral posture. It is more likely that the camera conditions like focal length, lighting, angle, etc. resulted in the differences in the photos you are observing.
Trust me I swear,I literally took over 100 photos from all kinds of angles, lightings etc. Face changed for the worse 1000%. I can send photos privately to you if you want. I am also under 18 years old. Visible eye support loss. Distance from the eyes to the tip of the nose increased 100%, mandible went downwards slightly, huge change in eye shape. I've been experimenting with mewing for last couple of months, but the huge negative changes occured just as I started swallowing by hitting the soft palate with the back of my tongue (with the loud crack sound). Ive had saliva build up and did the swallow every minute the last 10 days. And holy fucking shit my face went downwards. Honestly scary how fast the changes occured. HUGE CW rotation
I can sympathize with how discouraging it can be when something you believe will help fails or causes side effects. Try not to feel hopeless. Our mental health is part of the feedback loop involved with craniofacial development when our sleep is disrupted, our autonomic nervous system becomes dysregulated, and inflammation goes unchecked. Intervening anywhere in this viscous cycle can redound to benefit other aspects of our lives. It's easy to look in the mirror or at photos and convince ourselves that we see changes. Reddit is full of people posting before and after images that are supposed to show positive results from mewing, but only reveal inconsistencies in lighting, angle, and camera settings. The same is true for unwanted differences. I have a hard time judging differences in my own photos, let alone other's. If you sent me your pictures, I couldn't glean much of anything definitive from them. Could the "crack sound" you hear when swallowing be pressure changes in your eustachian tubes? All I can say is if there's a technique you think is causing problems, then adapt your strategy, for example try suctioning your posterior tongue rather than pushing up with it. It's hard to know if a method is working or not from just 10 days, but trust your instincts.
People take MONTHS to see any drastic changes from mechanical devices screwed into your palate creating a large degree of force constantly. It's very unlikely you see anything different after ten days. Very, very unlikely. Apollo is right.
