Hello,

Quick run down. 25 year old woman

been mewing for 2 years, have seen results

I still feel changes in my face (little skull movements) as I push my tongue against my palate

My palate towards the back is wide enough to fit my tongue, but the front is narrow

chewed mostly on right side of face... it’s significantly more developed and less fatty

Mandible is extremely underdeveloped and I have no chin. Crowding in lower front teeth but upper teeth are straight (except for slight deviation on both top and bottom teeth on the right side due to over working those teeth)

My question is what exactly do I do to:

Grow my mandible

straighten lower teeth (is it possible with tongue forces or must I get braces)

achieve facial symmetry like like the woman’s picture attached?

Thank you.

Are your wisdom teeth fully erupted on both sides? If so, that's great! Your palate does look relatively narrow and vaulted. Do you know what your intermolar width is? Do you have a normal class I occlusion? Widening your maxilla might allow your mandible to protrude a little. Symmetry should improve with expansion. If you struggle to maintain correct tongue posture, you might want to consider some kind of device to get you moving in the right direction.

Thanks for replying, yes all my wisdom teeth have erupted and I removed one on my left side on the bottom.

I tried measuring my intermolar width and I don’t know if I did it correctly, but it was around 38mm.

i don’t now what occlusion I have, lol. What device would you recommend?

If your intermolar width is around 38mm, you're in a range where some people can achieve progress through concerted effort with tongue posture alone but for others it is prohibitively difficult. You described being able to engage your posterior tongue but struggling to fit the tip on the spot. In such cases, some people have recommended posturing the tip of the tongue farther back around the rugae and gradually bringing it forward as space becomes available. I haven't tried this method myself. There are a variety of appliances to choose from which you can research here on the forum. If you decide to use an appliance, finding the right provider with a philosophy focused on creating tongue space and protecting the airway might be more important than which type of expander they provide. This can also depend on what is available where you live.

This woman has a very youthful look to her. I will say a lot of it is genetic.

First off, Masseter hypertrophy is definitely there on her. But also, having a small mandible/chin (genetic) for that feminine/youthful look. Notice I said small chin but not weak chin. Her maxillary development seems good to where her mandible can protract and not make her have a mouth breather look. Her incisors more than likely are proclined judging by her acute nasolabial angle. This means her small mandible doesn't make her facial features weak but instead she can maintain a strong angular profile. Judging by her zygo projection and also facial width she has an above average palatal width.

So her look is a combo of genetics and also good posture, assuming everything about her is natural.

I see in the OP you lament your small mandible but this woman also has a small mandible. But her maxillary projection and wide palate allow her mandible allow protraction which really is all that matters for aesthetics. If you develop your masseter your small mandible will look more prominent. Also what is your Mew indicator line?

Plastic surgery

30 yo, need to expand palate, move maxilla upward and forward, reduce gonial angle.

Yeah, my mandible is small and I have no chin because the crowding in my bottom teeth cause my jaw to appear narrower than it actually is. When I push swallow, I can feel pressure in my teeth as if they are moving laterally, where they’re supposed to be positioned. I measured my mew indicator line and it’s 38. 1mm. I can’t get my tongue on my palate because it’s so vaulted. Ugh. Idk what to do.

edit: her teeth actually tip inwards

What about your mew line measurement with the ruler? Wanted to see if your method was accurate
