I have been reading that so many of you do facepulling using things like belts, towels and plastic bags but somehow I can't imagine how you do it and which way you pull. Couldn't find illustrations online either.
How to do it and what will it do to a face?
Correcting my teeth to avoid pain and paying. Correcting my breathing to improve everything else. Correcting my facial asymmetry because now I think it's possible.
@Keengo seems to know well as he is one of our facepull gurus.
Maybe @Greensmoothies too? I remember she has done it (I believe)
I do face pulling with thumbs (called "thumb pulling") now generally 1-3x per day until I feel a suture separation (usually 30 seconds). Using the search feature should help you find the thread about it. If you still don't understand after reading the content about it & user experiences on this site, I would consider waiting until you've learnt more about the skull bones and Mewing. Give yourself time to learn because some people here have misaligned their cranial bones or worsened asymmetry with just Mewing even, and face pulling is even more advanced. Btw, you may want to consider that Mew doesn't believe in face pulling as people on this site tend to do and instead he believes in devices used for a much longer daily duration as per the medical literature. He also doesn't like the delaire reverse pull one because one anchor point is the chin, iirc his complaint here was it might prevent mandibular upswing (Dr. Mahony also says that device is bad for people with TMD), and more recently the Chimpancerda has been developed with anchorage on the chest instead of the chin, though not much is known about it.
Remember this pain... and let it activate you.
Thanks for your reply. I do thumb pulling sometimes and I have done so intuitively over the years, knowing my palate is narrow. I do it sporadically not to affect anything negatively.
I have the same approach to mysterious art of facepulling, wouldn't suddenly overdo it at the start, but simply I can't picture in what position, how, etc. I guess I want to see a drawing since I guess people won't flaunt it and post their photos biting belts and bin bags.

I don't practice this, and I encourage you to proceed with caution if you decide to try it, but here's an archived lookism thread with some diagrams posted by a contributor called dons_johns who introduced the use of a belt for facepulling. The thread is no longer available on the live site. You can put his username in the search bar on this forum and find some discussion about it. You could also search for descriptions of @Keengo's facepulling with a bag.

several weeks ago i came a across a post by sophie1390, she was talking about face pulling. I had no idea what it was until i clicked the link she posted. I clicked the link and saw Plato explaining the way he does it. After reading about it, i realize that i have been doing something that could work just as well as the one Apollo was explaining in his web page and it is very safe and organic. At that moment i was thinking about sharing it with you guys here,i even recorded myself several times with the intention of posting a video here, however, i held back. After watching the link Apollo posted above. I said to myself boy, someone is gonna get hurt, just go ahead and share it with the guys here.
Now how should i do it? I don't really want to show my whole face. I recorded 3 videos but the quality was so so, so i will record a better one.
How long should the video be?
i won't talk in the video, however, once you watch it youcan ask me anything about it and of course i will give you guys a play by play of the action i'll be doing in the video.
Where should i post it?
I have been doing this for about 8 years, and was intended to work out all the muscles of my face, which it does really well, however, without a doubt can work as face pulling in all direction that one wishes .
Just let me know and i'llpost the video on the weekend.

I think you mean Plato rather than Apollo. Here's Sophie's post:
It is the facepulling method as described here: http://jawpain-tmjtreatment.com/
I have experimented with facepulling using a helmet modeled after Plato's original design but I modified it to use a facebow with 5 attachment points like Dr. Mew's MewVector system. I eventually abandoned the practice because I felt like too much of the force was loaded onto my teeth rather than my palate. You can read details about my extra-oral traction experience in the thread about my routine.

I'd be interested to see a video of your method! You could wear something like a sleep mask to cover your eyes for anonymity. I guess you could post it to a burner account on youtube.

Hi Apollo,
Where can i contact you?
Hi Apollo,
Where can i contact you?
You can use the forum's personal message function if you want to talk privately, or you can post to the thread about my routine ( /community/community/case-discussions/my-routine/ ) if you want to talk openly so others can participate. I'm still experimenting with your khechari mudra exercises, so I'd be happy to keep in touch!

Hey Apollo!,
Thanks for your info. I gonna say it here anyway. I made the video and I was gonna send it to you first, however, after watching the video a lot =_= today and seeing how silly =_= I look. I decided to just describe it here. So I'll do it right now:
All you guys need is a ball with air inside, a silicon or rubber ball could work but they very much have no give and are just a bit hard. bigger sizes are better, like 4" or 5" or even higher are fine too, like a basketball-size would work just fine. here is an example of a ball a use:
I have no business with that link, I just picked it at random from Amazon.
Ok, now, actually you might wanna get a small cloth to put on the top of the ball, or a neck warmer, you will see why=_=.
Please warm-up and stretch your neck and face with a warm cloth etc. before the next step.
Now go lay down on your stomach/chest on the bed with the ball underneath the center of your chin but not touching the ball yet, you keep the ball in place by holding the sides of the ball with your hands. keep just your lips together and extend the lower jaw down and forward touching the top of ball, now do the chewing action driving the jaw down the top of the ball and up, down and up and so forth, just keep doing the chewing action, you can add more pressure by pressing harder with the chin and you can put more or remove air from the ball, and you can do the chewing action fast, slow, etc. You can have a mirror in front of you to see the pump of the muscles of the jaw and the stretching of the neck and lower jaw as well. You can roll your chin/neck on the ball from side to side and work one side more than the other if you think you need it, play around with it. Now that I mew I do it while mewing as well, I also do it while doing a cheesy smile bodybuilder's way, you can combine them. The ball creates pressure and pumping action at the same time. Then you can do all that above, with the ball now in front of your chin and under the lower lip to balance everything and work those muscles from a different angle.
You don't always need to do it on the bed, even holding the ball on the sides on the palms of your hands. You can do the exact same action on a wall, just hold the ball in place against the wall and place your chin either on the top or in the front of the ball and you're set, just make sure you watch your neck.
That is it guys, very simple.
P.S. I forgot to add, that when I do all of the drills /exercises above, I try to always engage my occipitalis, frontalis, and temporalis muscles all at once, working together in harmony creating tension and pumping blood all around the head/face and neck. the more muscles of the face one learn to engage, the easier it will become to work them out, whenever you want. It is just like lifting weight you decide which muscles you're going to work out or isolate, and sometimes all of them at once.
P.S. "I'm still experimenting with your khechari mudra exercises"
Keep trying brother, I'm having an amazing experience while mewing that way, I hope you can get it soon and have it as well.

Hi RamonT,
You're still confusing me with Plato who runs the jawpain-tmjtreatment.com website. I can see how the Greek names could be easily mixed up. If you want to contact Plato, his email is linked near the bottom of that page. When I tried facepulling myself, I modified Plato's design:

The exercise you described with the ball sounds interesting. While lying on your stomach, are you propping yourself up with your arms? I can see how it could be useful to work out the muscles and improve mindfulness about the range of motion of the neck and jaw. However, facepulling's extra-oral traction is intended to shift the maxilla up and forward. So these are probably different, but potentially complimentary objectives. Don't you think? Thanks for sharing!

Hi Apollo,
I am sorry for the confusion, i wanted to contact you Apollo =_=.
I forgot to mention that you keep the ball in place by holding it on the sides with your hands. Try it using the cheesy smile bodybuilder's way while you do the chewing action up and down charging the ball with your chin, another good one is chewing action and pouting and suctioning your lips close together and forward, that would help bring the maxilla and the zygos up and forward.and from time to time Alternate between doing the chewing action, with the chin on top of the ball....... and then with the ball in front of the chin and under the lower lip.
While doing the pouting and suctioning of the lips, focus on rolling the lower lip out from the inside out and down by engaging the Mentalis and do the opposite with the upper lip by engaging the Orbicularis Oris all that while doing the chewing action on the ball.
I should also add that while you doing the chewing action up and down, you want to also keep/drive you lower just forward that way you will feel the maxilla and zygos working the way out and up, visualize them doing just that.
The piece of close is to prevent rush on the chin from doing it too much, it is very easy to overdo it because it feels good =_=
P.S. Feel free to ask anything that you might not understand and I'll do my best to explain it .

I think I understand how to do it. I'll give it a try once I find a suitable ball to use!
Great!, i'm glad.
You are always welcome.
Seems intresting. Thanks for sharing RamonT. I will try it, and let you guys know.

Hey Dave,
You're welcome brother!. Please do and let us know.
Feel free to ask anything related to the ball pumping.
I'd like to say that I always warm up my whole head, face and neck whenever I do the ball pumping and faces exercises in general, I believe is very important and it does not take that long to do.
For the head I use a metal comb,a face brush is fine too, and I comb, scratch and stimulate my whole head/💀 skull.
For the face and the neck, I boil water and pour it on a piece of cloth and I go around my neck and the whole face several times, I then use the metal comb or a face brush and carefully exfoliate my face and neck. I do all that as i mew.
I then get into the ball pumping exercise, which I do several times a day for like 5-10 minutes.
Hey should I will retainer at night to not relapsed ?
