I’ve tried reading every guide I can find, every youtube comment I can, but none seem to make much sense to me. I feel as if I’m only able to get the tip of my tongue to the roof of my mouth.

I’ve tried saying the word “sing” and I suppose that gets some of the rear of my tongue to the roof, but I can’t keep it there long enough to get the front up as well. I’ve also tried a strategy where I interrupt a swallow, but a lot of times I end up half-choking myself.

What is the best way/guide you all have found? And are there any good visuals and or explanations of how it should feel? I’m just trying to get the general idea down so I can begin implementing this in my life.

Tongue posturing shouldn't be that complicated unless you have a physiological problem blocking you from doing so naturally. What is the condition of your occlusion? Do you have a very narrow upper palate? Do you have a tongue tie?

Make contact with your uvula.  If your tongue is touching your uvula you know the back third is high enough.  The tip should be right behind your front two teeth.

How can you tell if you do this? Is there a sore throat and difficulty breathing sensation? Also feels like (sounds pretty gross I know) that I have a loogie in the back of my throat if I really try bringing that back third up?

A bit late, but anyways... I found AstroSkys guide really helpful! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIh4wT-WfYA

As for the choking/breathing problems, I have heard and read about these two solutions:
   1. Mew until you have to breathe. Let the tongue rest while you take a breath. Repeat this over and over throughout the day, for as long as it takes for your palette to expand and you are able to mew without (to much) breathing problems.
   2. Find the right tongue position, but make sure to only use a very slight amount of pressure, allowing you to breathe. It may make your breathing a bit more audible(this is the case for myself), but you won't at least snore or choke as otherwise is the case.
Naturally, I only find nr. 2 to be the sustainable solution. However, if I understood AstroSky correctly, nr. 1 is how he did it. I could have misunderstood him though, and would advice you not to take my word for it. Maybe anyone else here knows?
