My time with orthotropics techniques has been interesting and I wanted to share a theory with you. Is it possible that practicing orthotropic techniques promotes testosterone in the body? Ever since I first heard about orthotropics, I followed their techniques religiously. I began mewing first, then chewing gum, then chin tucking and attempting to correct my posture. Gradually as I've been doing this, I've felt more confident than I ever have been before and have been doing things I would have never thought possible of me. My muscles as a whole feel completely wanting of exercise. Today, in particular, I even went for a jog which I would never have likely never done in the time period before practicing orthotropics.
To provide a bit of background, I am nearly 18 years old and have been losing weight due to a condition, not any exercise.
Do you think it's possible orthotropics may be boosting testosterone in my body?
People who are low in serotonin/testosterone are far more likely to assume defensive posture i.e hunched over, protecting vital organs etc. People who are high in serotonin are likely to stand tall, broad and have high T (men in particular). This is a powerful but vulnerable position that indicates that the person isn't afraid i.e high confidence/power.
While everyone knows that people who are depressed/low in dominance have bad and defensive posture i.e the psychological affects the physical, what many people don't know is that the physical can influence the psychological. By practicing good posture you actually directly influence your brain chemistry and it will also be regulated by other people interacting with you based on your posture, subconsciously or not.
When we see people who are in good posture we instinctively assume things about like they are more healthy, more powerful, more intelligent, more respectable etc and then we treat them as such and when they are treated that way they further establish themselves in the dominance hierarchy which raises sero and T levels.
interesting stuff on the subject

i'm sure you could find tons more on it.

Posture has nothing to do with testosterone secretion.
there are many factors into play:
first you have the actual levels of testosterone in your body. Then you also have receptors, in some people these receptors are much more sensitive than others, for example woman with PCOS can have low levels of testosterone, but their receptors are very sensitive and give testosterone related symptoms.
then the amount if body fat is also dependent on your level of testosterone. More body fat means that more estrogen is made. Estrogen is made directly in 1 step from testosterone, so you have: testosterone >aromatase enzyme > estrogen.
estrogen can downregulate testosterone receptors, and the oposite. So more fat is more estrogen is less testosterone.
but again, this also depends on how active your aromatase receptor is, genetics, and your diet and many other environmental factors.
It does having proper tongue posture fixes a lot of problems with hormone secretion
but to have proper tongue posture you must have proper body posture so they go hand in hand
It's not testosterone it's affecting...it's nitric oxide coming from your sinuses.
Breathing through your noses increases nitric oxide production and results in vasodilation. Try supplementing with L-Arginine and you should observe a very similar response. If that seems like the same thing, then you have your answer.
Also worth mentioning is that Nitric Oxide is a regulator of bone remodelling. Google it.

This is actually really interesting, I don't know if I'm going to go as far as to consume supplements I don't really need, but if this is what is actually happening as a result of these lifestyle changes, I am really surprised more scientific research hasn't been put into breathing patterns.
