My ortho treatment left me with a narrow lower arch because of two bicuspid extractions. So my mandible sits deep in my maxilla and makes my lower third look weaker. It also weakens my chin in profile. Usually people of European descent have their chin ahead of their upper teeth in profile, but because of my unnatural position of my lower jaw, my chin sits back (despite it being strong and projecting)
I previously had an underbite which meant that now my maxilla is even further back. But I notice if my resting mandible position puts my lower incisors more forward and the space between them and my upper incisors decreases, my profile looks better. Of course, my teeth naturally are supposed to sit this way regardless.
This jaw jutting also increases my tongue pressure so I think it can be quite helpful. Hopefully putting my jaw in a place that is more natural will help. I have seen asymmetry decrease as well as I feel my teeth are getting used to fitting differently (since the unnatural deep bite isn't being reinforced over and over again at rest).
This causes me to engage my lip muscles more but also to make my face much more aesthetic. This isn't even jutting per se since my incisors still sit correctly (but my molars don't).
Maybe this can help with forward movement by not reinforcing the deep bite, adding tongue pressure, and evening out the forces to where they should be, as opposed to an unnatural place.
This is the exact same thing I do, too. Literally I can't put the back third on the soft palate if I don't protract the mandible forward but I don't do it voluntarily, it moves automatically when I mew. Only when I remove the tongue from the palate that the mandible goes back, probably trapped by retro inclined upper incisors.
Same thing happens to me, mewing or specifically proper head posture naturally "juts" my lower bite/jaw to come forward. Not a ton but it does come forward a little bit.
I’ve never done this intentionally but almost always wake up mewing in this position. Maybe there’s something to it.
What's all your nasolabial angles? Seems maxilla may be back?

My NL angle is more acute than obtuse for sure. Always has been. It is less than 90°. When I jut it becomes almost 90°. So this jutting increases the angle.
I jut 2-3mm because my mandible is jammed back in the socket and causes TMD - the small jut completely stops the clicks and pops and I read that you should jut in that case to stop the damage being done to the condyles. Hopefully some remodeling is taking place.
However one thing I've found about jutting and mewing together is that if I apply any pushing force with the mew, even slightly, it seems to directly oppose the jutting motion. I presume that's because when I push up or forward with my tongue, an opposing force happens in the lower jaw. So it's a bit of a weird feeling, trying to keep the two forces in balance, and I'm not 100% sure that it's a good situation.
A few days ago I realized I've been jutting for months to mew.
After realizing this I experimented with moving my bite back to as close as I can get to my molars matching up (I have a slight overbite and crossbite).
I don't think you should jut.
Aligning my molars has made maintaining my head posture absolutely effortless. It's crazy, this whole time I've been trying really hard to chin tuck but the answer was in the bite. Also, mewing with aligned molars (whether teeth are touching or not) provides an interesting force in the lower jaw that feels like it'll lead to restructuring over time.

Ok but do you have 14 teeth on your mandible like I do? Any teeth touching position with 14 teeth vs 16 will be unideal.
