I have major objections. Look, palatal expansion does occur in adults because the midpalatal cartilaginous suture never really ossifies completely.but to go from this to claiming that mewing somehow moves your whole maxilla is laughable. You are confusing Wolff's law , which states that the matrix turnover in bones dynamically remodels depending upon the specific load demands placed on said bones (e.g. Increase in bone density). No one ever said that Wolffs law states that ossified bones lengthen or move or change shape in response to loading.
Is this true? I've adopted correct tongue posture for a 3 months now and have seen some subtle changes but after reading this I am quite dissuaded from trying to shorten my midface as that is my main goal with mewing. Can someone chime in their knowledge? Thank you.
So someone is a skeptic. People like those exist. If you want to truly find out, keep mewing.
Bones never fully fuse and they can move and adapt at any age. If you look at people with tumors their bones will move, the tumor doesn't have any special tricks to do this, the bone wants to move so it can make room for this growth. A tumor is a very soft growth too, almost like silly puddy. I'm sure you lifted a 10 pound dog food at least once in your life, it's heavy but not that difficult to move. Each time you swallow you put 10 pounds of force on the upper pallate and you swallow about 1000 times a day. You need a considerably strong tongue to do this while keeping it on the roof of your mouth for practically your entire life.
Like many of us here you want the results quickly but It's going to take years if you've already have a bad case of Craniofacial Dystrophy and or you are over 25. If you have patience and a strong desire to change then you're going to make it. Also here is a video Mike Mew did on the effects of forces on bones.

It might seem strange coming from me... but I was not a skeptic of Mewing working. In fact, I know you can change the shape of your maxilla and even give yourself better cheekbones. The issues I have with it are that it can be difficult to sustain and if done with excessive pressure it can create some unintended consequences. Namely, for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. This is why some end up messing up their chins. I subscibe to DNA appliance for adults myself.
Mess up their chins???
