I've just re watched Mike Mew's video on tongue posture. On where the tongue should be pressed against. He says it should be pushed against the soft palate. It has just gone past the year stage since I began mewing, although, when I posture my tongue, I can definitely feel the front ridges and incisive papilla. And I am kind of sure I can feel the mid-palate ridge as well. But I don't think I can feel the back of the palate (the soft palate)? He says you can experiment if your tongue is on the soft palate by trying to exhale through your nose, and if you have trouble doing so, this means the tongue is engaged against it. I meet this requirement, but I am sure I cant feel the tongue engaged against this part? Does it need to be pressed against the soft palate?
I don't think many people can reach the soft palate and I don't think it's necessary for good development. I too can block the airway w/o reaching it. I get pretty close to it so I wouldn't worry about it imo.
Suction the tongue behind the rugae in order to engage the soft palate. This widens the rear palate more and makes this possible and as your palate widens, it becomes easier to engage all aspects
why suction? that is just pulling the palate down
