One of my family members says he wants braces to make less space between his teeth- the opposite of crowded teeth.  He has very nice width to his face, his jaw bones are well developed.  He is actually very good-looking and is 17, a lot of girls like him.  But he has expressed that he would like less space between his teeth.  Can Mewing help him?  Or should he get braces?

Do you mean a tooth gap?

Mewing will not solve that problem, as mewing is essentially expanding the maxilla even more, creating more width to the mid face i.e creating more space for the teeth.

If he wants to close that gap the the only real way is either getting braces or getting cosmetic dental treatment done. Either way mewing will not help with tooth gaps: Only creating more space for the teeth, Wider gaps essentially.

But personally I’d get some professional advice from a specialist, because no one on here is qualified to tell you what to or what not to do.

No not a tooth gap, just every tooth on the top front has extra space in between.

Sorrow could be correct, but I believe that sometimes, gaps can be caused by the tongue pushing against the teeth at rest, while talking, or when swallowing. If that is the case then mewing could help.
